Ok Style Police..... I need to know the best kind of top to wear with this outfit...

a 50's style a-line skirt in black or grey, knee length, with a net underskirt.

high chunky 1940's style peeptoe heels

Bearing in mind that I'm a 24yo, size 12 with passable arms, big norks and a small back, reasonable waist but a slight 'post-natal' (!) tum.....

It is for DH's work doo, so pretty formal but not black tie/ballgown number.

This sort of shape , though not neccessarily this actual one? If the skirt's quite wide, probably something pretty fitted. Maybe a halter neck?

What about a smart but fun white shirt. Those that are fitted but with nice frills (but not too much of course!) or interesting sleeves. Teamed with a lovely chunky colourful necklace ...

not sure about that one Jackie, the shape is a bit square for me. Maybe taking the retro theme a bit too far ?

I like the thought of a shirt, but I always seem to look a bit frumpy in them...
