AW2015

Yep I'm going there. I saw a fabulous cape linked on Pinterest which I'm seriously considering (and no I'm not linking!) and it led me to wondering what will be around this AW. And then googling and getting excited. I am loving the glorious weather and wearing dresses and sandals every day, but there is something scrummy about slick wool coats, shiny boots, new skinny jeans, cashmere...

Here is Marie Claire's predictions.

Anyone fancy some AW chat / linkage...?

I bought a black silk shirt today, courtesy of the charity shop and a bargainous £2.99. With skinnies and heeled ankle boots plus a biker jacket, that will be my perfect Autumn evening in the pub outfit!

Deeznutz · 20/07/2015 18:28

coat I have ordered

Deeznutz · 20/07/2015 18:33

boots

I hope these will work for my skinny ankles and chunkier calf.

Deeznutz · 20/07/2015 18:37

scarf

Sorry about seperate posts - my iPad loses them if I don't post them like it.

Crutchlow35 · 20/07/2015 19:13

Deez, that coat is on my list so I'd be keen to hear what you think when you get it!

WaggleBee · 20/07/2015 22:29

Like those boots Deez

I can't really do summer stuff, office temperature is 17 year round, and I'm also in Cheshire so temps outside the office not exactly soaring. Grin I am so ready for Autumn dressing, I can't be bothered with thin nude tights that last five minutes (FEEBLE). Can't wait to switch back to opaques, boots and knitwear.

A lot of those clothes are quite fugly, BUT if the colours and fabrics translated to the high street, I would be happy. I would love it if we didn't end up with a load of shapeless, synthetic, drab dross in the shops, but I suspect that's what we'll end up with. Oh, and nearer the 'party season' everything will just get coated with sequins and bling. Woop. Grin

I quite like

  • goth (am well stocked with biker boots)
  • red
  • boho (will look again at anthropologie sale)
  • the post modern stuff if I can manage to wear it for work
WaggleBee · 21/07/2015 20:21

I'm tired of boho. Think I over did when it was in a few years ago. Not a 70's fan. But the velvet, goth, cuffs, red trends look interesting.

Trying to build up my basics and keep it simple. I like similar to Remus plus dresses with opaques. Had a huge declutter last year and got rid a lot of things that I realised I didn't like or were too big, so there are big gaps in my now very organised wardrobe. Good excuse. Grin

FrugalFashionista · 21/07/2015 20:28

I wish there was something really new. We've all done boho, gothic, various decade revivals so many times.

I found some shoes from the mid-1990s today plus some of my mother's vintage shoes from 1960s. Some of the mid-1990s stuff is exactly what I saw Milanese fashion types wearing this spring.

southeastastra · 21/07/2015 21:12

really love the topshop unique flowery dresses they look so different

herecomesthsun · 21/07/2015 21:14

also like velvet

WaggleBee · 21/07/2015 21:51

Know what you mean Frugal I still have a velvet dress from the 90's actually. If it fit I could pass it off as on trend vintage. Sadly a size 8 back then was tiny so I doubt I could cram my left buttock into it.

Turquoiseblue · 22/07/2015 18:31

I have a velvet blazer in royal blue I got last season I hope to get into.
Picked up a fab maje cardi and scarf in local store too today, very happy!

I am excited the aw15 is now out and love browsing through it. As a curvy girl (5'5", size 14, pear shaped) i just dread summer clothes. i look frumpy in dresses, my legs are too chunky for shorts and sleeveless tops just show off my large upper arms! the only thing i love about summer is my flip flops! but ahhh roll on autumn: skinny jeans, cosy cashmere jumpers, funky scarves and ballet flats.
unfortunately, i will just be window-shopping this year as maternity wear is just nothing to get excited over at any time of the year and I shall be spending the rest of 2015 in anything that fits. although maybe i might treat my self to a new cashmere cardigan......

Turquoiseblue · 24/07/2015 14:52

Just got some really lovely ash biker boots, and a new handbag from plumo a maje cardi and scarf ..... All this AW talk is making me spend Smile!
(Hadn't bought anything in yonks though) have realised I m going to need breast feeding friendly tops - any way to do that without avoiding frump city ?

Coastingit · 24/07/2015 21:20

Just updating to say the Uniqlo merino jumpers are utterly gorgeous. Thin, silky, great quality and a fantastic boxy flattering shape. And £25. Highly recommend.
