Can I use the keratin hair treatment if Pregnant?

9 weeks pregnant and had been contemplating the keratin hair treatment as I'm So sick of having to straighten my hair. Is this safe to use in pregnancy?

Do you mean like a Brazilian blowdry? If so my hair dresser was adamant it would be fine although recommended waiting until after 12 weeks. She used it all through both her pregnancies but on finding out it contained formaldehyde I decided against it. The level was something like 0.2% but not something I wanted to risk. She said the worst part while she was pregnant was the strong chemical smell. Maybe check with your hairdresser though, they might use a different type.

Thanks. Did you end up getting it done after your pregnancy? How did you find it? I have very thick course frizzy hair and am hoping this will take it.

I did have it done before I was pregnant though and it was absolutely the best thing ever!! My hair isn't particularly thick but it is wavy which is fine if I don't brush it but it turns into a big ball of frizz when combined with a hair dryer.. not with the Brazilian blowdry though. I could rough dry my hair and it would look like it had been styled and straightened, literally took 5 minutes. I had it done about 5 months ago and my hair is still loads better than before. My hair dresser now seems to spend the majority of her time doing them (she's mobile) and often takes before/after pictures so it definitely does work on thicker hair just as well!

Sounds great!! I think like yourself I'll leave it till after the birth and then it'll be the first (and probably only) treat I get!! This is dc3 so I can't imagine having the time or inclination to use hair straighteners when it's here!!
