A truly wow fragrance - (without me having to wade through the hugely long perfume thread on here)...

I would love to have a new perfume, and have some pennies saved.
I love Chanel Mademoiselle, Alien, Jo Malone wood sage & sea salt and Chance eau Fraiche.
I love smelling lovely and people complimenting me on my perfume ????

I recently tried Joy Forever by Jean patou and it was one of the prettiest perfumes I've tried in a long time

mowglik · 12/07/2015 22:21

Wow you have listed perfumes which have all been my favourites at one time or another. Used alien and chance for years and wood sage and salt is my current go to perfume, along with jo loves gardenia which I am really enjoying at the moment. Not sure if it's a wow perfume but had a couple of people comment I smell nice.

If you can't find a wow perfume maybe try layering to create a more complex and individual scent?

OK, having wanted the exact same thing... My advice is to make a time investment in doing some research... Try the fragrantica website for suggestions and then less scenteurs in London ( visit if possible, but they do samples)

Hermes Elixir des Merveilles is my current wow scent that I've had lots of compliments on. Wasn't that bothered by it when I first sprayed it on but after a minute or two the scent really developed nicely - so much so I went back and bought some and am now on my second bottle. It's orangey with sea salt and amber, works well in winter and summer.

Another one that I have had as a freebie in a beauty box and like for someething lighter is the roger et gallet fleur de figuier - a fig based one that I've got as an eau de toilette but in looking up the spelling, I've just seen they now have a new eau de parfum in it too. nice and fresh, but soft and clean.

Mummybear8 · 12/07/2015 23:29

Yes to Roger & Gallet, I find a lot of their fragrances lovely, especially Citron and Fleur D'Osmanthus.
I was going to suggest Chanel chance eau fraiche as it is my favourite!
I have Roberto Cavalli, Just Cavalli and think that's a bold perfume that smells clean and almost soap-like, a tiny bit like the original Jean Paul Gaultier women's fragrance.
My favourite fragrances usually smell a little bit masculine and I love bergamot and citrusy scents because i find they last the longest.
Hope you find something! Smile

How about Molecule 1, I get asked all the time what I'm wearing and it's very personal to me given it reacts to your own pheromones

Mimigolightly · 13/07/2015 08:28

I also love a couple of your go-to perfumes. For the last year I've worn Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb and always get lots of compliments on it.

Chicinwellies · 13/07/2015 08:33

Ooh interesting. Thanks all! Will have to try these all out.

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 13/07/2015 10:07

No 15 is like a musky clean scent.
Masculine but not smelling of Lynx
