Ok, so I've lost weight recently, by no means slim, but back down to a size 16 where I'm generally happy! Problem is my arms still resemble those of the traditional dinner lady (sorry to svelte dinner ladies of whom I am sure there are many!), bingo wings and all.I've got my xmas outfit planned, very simple black sleeveless dress with silver bits and bobs but i'm not confident enough to go with my arms uncovered. Also poor as church mouse at the moment, so has anyone got any ideas? I've trawled ebay for sparkly shrugs and the like but not coming up with anything I fancy. Alternatives or anyone know of a nice shrug on high street?

Honormatopoeia: I'm PG and am carrying the baby in my arms and arse (a medical miracle).

I went to a wedding in a sleeveless top, and wore a small, triangular fringed shawl to cover my upper arms. I draped it round my shoulders, then tied it behind my back.

Looked good, and didn't cover the nice top up.

Monsoon has a really cute cropped cardigan. It just has one tiny little button at the top and isn't too tight. Forget how much it is though. I sympathise with you though. I have a really great figure, even at a size 16 and am really happy with my body, but i hate my upper arms. Soooo many pretty dresses that look great, but they are all sleevless

Booboobedoo and paulaplumpbottom. . . just have to say I LOVE your names . Arms are a pain aren't they? I'd be chuffed with the weight loss if I didn't still have arms like an out of work shot putter! Gonna check out monson website and Good idea about shawl, think I have a gold onesomewhere, may try it and if it look good try and find a silver one. Thank you x
