for a smart/casual lunch. i don't like gladiator type shoes cankles and i'm not too good in massive heels. also, i don't wear leather or suede.

any ideas please? (boots, converse or birkenstocks are my usual footwear).

Hi, lovely dress! Are you ok with low wedges? Like these...

MummySparkle · 29/06/2015 23:21

I'd go with the Birkenstocks. I wear mine with a dress like that :)

poppym12 · 29/06/2015 23:27

oohhh thank you, they're a possible :) i could manage that heel height for a while i think (2 prolapsed discs a few years ago made wearing heels too painful now).

i'd need to try them on as i have weird feet shoes ranging from size 4 to 6. there's no store nearby but i suppose i could order two pairs with express delivery.

i did buy these and they are very lovely

but one shoe is way too big and after wearing them for half an hour, my back started to ache. what a waste.

i would if it was just casual mummysparkle but i'd like to dress it up a bit if i can. i bought it as i know i'll wear it again with the birkenstocks in future whereas most of the others i looked at, i knew i'd only wear once.

Poppy would it be flats ideally then? As Mummysparkle says Birkenstocks would definitely work. Maybe in silver to be a bit more dressy?

poppym12 · 29/06/2015 23:48

i think i'd be ok with a low heel rain and i've got it into my head that i want to make an effort (look different to how i usually slob around). i know the dress isn't really stylish but it fits my current body shape and size that i hate quite flatteringly.

I'd wear Birkies with that, maybe silver ones if I wanted to be posh.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 30/06/2015 00:03

Yep totally understand. Higher or lower than these? www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/shoes-430/view-all-748/heartbeat-heeled-sandals-4103735?bi=1&ps=200

Wagglebee · 30/06/2015 00:04

Lovely dress! Gutted I didn't spot it earlier as the size 10 has sold out. Would've been perfect.

I like the Dune ones and think Birks would be good too. Dune are very good for Summer shoes/sandals.

poppym12 · 30/06/2015 00:04

suppose that at least i know i'd wear the birkies again. going shopping tomorrow so hopefully i'll be able to find something.

The Dune 'Head Over Heels' range seems all non-leather...

poppym12 · 30/06/2015 00:11

that height or maybe even a bit higher rain.

i bought the dress from debenhams when they had a 20% off day a while ago waggle. it hangs really well as the fabric isn't thin and static-y. its one of my favourite purchases of the year. bargain Grin.

you are a very good shoe shopper rain and i appreciate it because i'm crap.

not keen on the gold heel but that link also showed up some cream ones with a cream heel so i'll have a look at what other colours they do.
