Pashminas? Are they still OK? And where to buy?

OK, going to opera and wearing a silk babydoll dress with a scoop neck and long bell-shaped sleeves. Thought about putting a pashmina over the top to keep warm. Is this OK? And where is a "best buy"?

what sort of sexy coat? i have only standard black work one, and didn't really want to splash out on evening coat. Maybe a sort of knitted cape?
