Can I wear v dark wash blue jeans with black boots?

Gorgeous dark skinnys 15 down from 60, how could I resist? Problem: all my shoes are black or brown. Do I need to go shoe shopping?

Umm yes. I often wear black boots with jeans or navy or burgundy.

Black is fine, in fact best if they are new and dark jeans, as I have had lighter coloured shoes ruined if new dark jeans get wet and the dye runs.

If you have brown boots, wear them. Much nicer with denim than black, surely?

I thought brown would be even worse, shows how much I know.

Well I would wear brown, same as I always wear a brown leather belt with jeans (if they need one), but I actually quite like your boot/jeans combo.

I guess I wouldn't wear black heeled boots with jeans (too "Mum at Next"), but would wear brown/taupe etc.

Why on earth not? Anyone who trots out that appalling old 'mum boots' crap needs a good slap.

What Shelagh said. Also I think that if the denim is dark then black looks better because your legs will look longer as the colours are closer. Brown is too contrasting for this reason.

I always wear black boots with jeans. I just prefer it personally.
