How old is too old for shorts?

Am going on hols somewhere hot. Was considering buying shorts then had a crisis of confidence. Am I too old? My legs are fine, but I just wondered if there was an unwritten rule which i wasn't aware of....
Thoughts? Am I being paranoid?

I am 50 and wear them no veins or anything yet and even if I did I still would wear them Legs ok and always fake tanned when I do wear them COuldn't wear knee length ones though only proper shorts

I don't think they look good, she looks miles better in literally every other thing on the page

I'm with Noddy. Mid forties and wear short but definitely bum-covering shorts. The knee length ones never look right on me.

In winter with tights, in the summer I slap on some fake tan and wear with pride. Legs good but definitely not perfect.

Mypelvicfloor she looks bloody fantastic in them!!! Many people do. Maybe you just dont like shorts.

I've discovered that longer shorts with a tailored / fitted shirt looks fab on holiday.
It taken me many years though. I've had many holidays with big bra straps hanging out of vests or droopy boobs!
Next had some nice longer length shorts last year (I'm the wrong side if 40).
Big sunglasses and big hat are my new favorites.

I am overweight 42 year old and will be spending most of August in Spain.
Despite my Chubby knees I will be taking 2 ( yes 2!!!!!) pairs of shorts with me. One is a denim " boyfriend" fit and the other a black tailored pair.
If anyone thinks the sight of me may be too traumatic for them please feel free to PM me and I will message you my intended location so you can avoid it!!!
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in - there will always be someone who looks better than you and someone who looks worse.

I gave up shorts when I was a teenager thinking my legs were too short and fat for them until 3 years ago when I realised just how comfy they are in hot weather! So despite the varicose veins, thread veins and chub, I now wear them nearly everyday in the summer and anyone who doesn't like it can just turn away!

I'm 48 and still wear shorts. Saw a young girl wearing them earlier and am actually proud to say my legs are a much better shape that hers (the rest of her probably looked a lot better underneath though!).

Even if you're legs aren't the best shape or skin has seen better days, wear your shorts and enjoy your holiday!

I grew up in Florida so find the concept of 'too old for shorts', in fact too anything for shorts an alien concept.

I love shorts when it's hot: I wear J Crew 3 inch (or it may be 4 inch). Perfect.

Well i am 47 and have purchased numerous shorts to wear on holiday. There is no way i am going to be hot just because of my age!

So true carrie. I even wear dressy longer shorts (city shorts) to work here in Florida. And I am not young.
