Are Christian Louboutins worth the money?

I have been given some cash for a birthday present, and I've always wanted a pair of Louboutins, my question is are they really worth it? I never splash out on anything so think they may not be all I want them to be!

I've got my eye on so Kate's if that helps

I have mega narrow feet... they could be the shoes for me Grin

thenightsky · 13/06/2015 20:34

Oh, but they are lovely OP

KingTut · 13/06/2015 20:36

Don't do it. After wasting money on designer bags and shoes I vote they are not worth it.

TSSDNCOP · 13/06/2015 20:37

BF has them. They make her cry with pain.

Alisvolatpropiis · 13/06/2015 20:38

Unless they're like walking on an actual cloud, I don't think the very expensive shoes are worth the money. I have heard and others on this thread have confirmed that Louboutins are very much not like walking on a cloud.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/06/2015 20:44

God, those are so high - very much taxi/bedroom shoes and never ever to be worn to a drinks party.

Glitteryfrog · 13/06/2015 20:44

I've just had a prowl on net a porter I think I prefer these to louboutins www.net-a-porter.com/product/161339

TSSDNCOP · 13/06/2015 20:46

Even the models feet look squished in the Net link.

There's some real purty ones on the jimmy coho site though.

WaitingForMe · 13/06/2015 20:49

It depends on your general attitude to shoes. I've worn heels since I was fifteen and have permanently shortened my calf muscles (uncle is a chiropodist) so am ok in mine. But my Jimmy Choos are comfier.

SilentBob · 13/06/2015 20:53

I own a pair.

They have never made it out of the house. Mine are peep toe black patents. Absolutely stunning to look at but, even as an avid heel wearer, I find them impossible to walk in!!

I keep meaning to sell them but never get round to it...probably because they are so beautiful!

GoodGirlGoneWrong · 13/06/2015 20:53

Ooh I like those ones linked Glittery

I wear heels once for twice a week not overly often, never more than 3.5 inches.

Am going off them now after all the conclusions that they are so uncomfortable and I won't be able to walk

Lambzig · 13/06/2015 20:56

I have Manolos, Jimmy choo and Rupert Sanderson (among others). Rupert Sanderson are by far the most comfortable.

TapStepBallChange · 13/06/2015 21:04

Bicester Village can be good for this sort of thing, in most things I think it's gone down hill, but I have had good bargains in Tods, Prada and Gucci shoes, all classic designs, not some random design still hanging round from the '80s

Truckingalong · 13/06/2015 21:10

Pigalle 85 are far more wearable and comfy but good luck in finding some!!

BrandyAlexander · 13/06/2015 21:11

Louboutin made the only pair of expensive shoes I have ever regretted buying.

I almost cry thinking about the time I went to Madrid for a meeting and wanted to be all chic as I knew the other women would be really glam. I was in those damn Pigalles for two whole days. I can't begin to describe the pain I was in.

My current favourite heels are Stuart Weizmann for Russell & Bromley. Very well made and absolutely comfortable.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/06/2015 21:14

They fit me well as I have really narrow feet but I love my Ginas far more.

AmberNectarine · 13/06/2015 21:54

Ooh yes novice, I have 11cm Stuart Weitzmans and they are so comfy!

Madbengalmum · 13/06/2015 21:58

Dont have a problem with comfort in CL, have a few pairs and no pain.
Jimmy choo are very comfy though, i can wear for longer, problem is they discontinued my faves.

monkeysmama · 14/06/2015 00:01

I find them too uncomfortable to wear. Like Amber, I have Pigalle 100s and they're crippling. The Customer Service is also some of the worst I've ever experienced. It's not a luxury experience in any sense.

BrandyAlexander · 14/06/2015 08:13

God I wish I had seen this thread 2 years ago when I bought the Pigalles!!

MsVanRein · 14/06/2015 08:24

I have So Kate 120s and I adore them. The pitch is very high they took a bit of getting used to but they don't pinch or hurt.

Liam18 · 03/08/2019 21:55

hey do you know where i can send mine to get re-done ?? thanks in advance

StellaRockafella · 03/08/2019 23:19

Liam18 There's only one authorised cobbler in London who works with Louboutins. It's on Whitecross Street, London EC2

Leftiefterson · 03/08/2019 23:53

I think it depends. There are loads of Loubie’s that look like stripper heels, others are classic and sexy. I have a few pairs but do find them notoriously painful to wear.

Valentino are a little more wearable as are Jimmy Choos.

I recently treated myself to a pair of Gianvito Rossi heels - they are sex personified!
