Moisturiser not necessary ??

I read in the Daily Fail yesterday that a facialist says that we don't need to be clogging up our pores with moisturiser and all that you need is an exfoliating chemical serum, dark spot corrector and a sunscreen. After a while your skin will rebalance itself and produce it's own moisture.What do MN 'ers think.

2 cleansers - not really, only if you are wearing longwear makeup. Cleanser should be cheap anyway as it doesn't stay on your face for long

Acid tone - yes definitely, any non-acid toner total waste of cash

Serum - not necessarily, depends if you have issues you want to deal with but often overrated

Retinol - great if it suits your skin

Moisturiser - if you have oily or oily normal skin, prob a waste of time. If you are using SPF in the day and/or adding serum it's prob moisturising enough.

So yes, I think the Mail advice was right, no I don't think you need to spend nearly as much cash as they recommend to pull it off.

I use pixi glow tonic or bravura for acid toner

Double cleansing is great, I don't believe two cleansers are necessary though.

I have a sea of cleansers being a beauty addict! I often use the same twice though. Depends how my skin feels and what I have been doing

I wash my face with plain water, or soap if im showering. Moisturise every few days with rose oil. I think my skin is pretty good for my age.

I stopped using a cream at night a while ago and its condition has improved greatly. I use 'cheap' SPF moisturiser for day wear, no serum and cleanse with a scrub and milky cleanser alternately! Lots and lots of comments.

My skin would feel right wirhout moisturiser however after years of trying expensive ones with little results I too have been following the amazing faces for approx 6 weeks ..
Double cleanse
Acid tone
Serum
Any cheap moisturiser ie olay, revitalist , Nivea etc
Adding retinoids pm
And my skin is in fact now amazing ! :)

Oops not forgetting spf :)
