Mission impossible? One dress. Two events

I have a graduation ball and a wedding to attend a week apart. Finances are tight so I'd ideally like to get a dress that will work for both occasions without being over/under dressed.

I'm 40. About a size 12 (but quite "booby"). Pretty much hourglass but with a wobbly/curvier than I'd like stomach area. I need to be able to wear a strapped bra and don't like showing my back too much.

Any ideas please?

Is this one too much for a wedding? It'd work for the ball but don't want to look like a wannabe bridesmaid Confused

The skirt is called Coro and is bright pink.

I like that first purple dress. Never heard of that brand, so no idea what the quality would be like (is it terrible to say I don't trust Debenhams much?).

Not so sure about the maxi - depends what you'd wear it with, I think.

Ah. Yes. Hmmmm. Could be a possibility. Separates definitely something to consider.

I hear you about Debenhams. Puts me off too Confused

I do like maxi dresses but always wear them for daytime with flip flops. Not sure how they work for going out out...
