Casual shoes for wet summer/spring weather

I'm not really a shoe person. I only own about six pairs of shoes and I wear them until they fall apart. In winter I live in court shoes for work and "Mum boots" for casual. From April to October I basically live in sandals (smart ones for work, very casual for beach / walks, in between for walking round town), other than court shoes for client meetings, walking boots for muddy walks and sometimes the Mum boots if I really have to, ie freezing or raining hard.

What I really need though is something that I can wear when it's raining but still warm as I just end up either hot in boots or wet in sandals. Ideally not ballet pump flat or more than two inch heel as my dodgy ankles can't cope with either.

I just can't work out what other people wear in that sort of weather, so give me some ideas please.

Leather Converse or ballet shoes here - both flat though.

I go for ballet pumps with a bit of a wedge heel, up to 2 inches. The difficulty is finding nice ones!

Shoes are a pain, aren't they? Ideally I like to go from boots-sandals-boots but it's not always possible.
