Breton tops

I am aware that this is one of the least exciting requests ever (and that some of you will have strong views on the fashion dullness that is Breton tops.) But anyway....

I am after a couple of Breton tops. I have an old Boden one which is good, but the reviews this year say the fabric is thin. I want reasonably thick, sturdy cotton. Willing to spend a bit on a good one, but not designer £50 a tshirt prices. It also needs to be long in the body as I'm tall.

Any ideas?

Jigsaw Amelie ones. Come in three colour ways and I've got all three. Lovely fit, flattering , decent fabric but not too heavy like all the Joules ones I have. Long ish length. Three quarter length sleeves. £39 I think.

Seasalt are lovely quality but if you are on the small side they swamp you - the shoulders don't sit right.

Gosh thank you for all the other recommendations. I will look at them all.

I am not small Mewkins. I am tall. And with around the 5kg of baby weight still to lose.

I have many!
Uniqlo, Jigsaw, Petit Bateau, Gap, H&M are all worth a look.

Has anybody seen a black and white one, more black than white?

Bouncey · 25/05/2015 21:25

What's the sizing like on the amorlux? Is a 0 about an 8?

yazzy85 · 25/05/2015 23:53

I have the Boden ones which are ok at the moment, they are fitted nicely. Also have a few of the Joules ones and they are much thicker material and a bit more loose fitting.

Iatemyskinnyperson · 26/05/2015 00:41

I got a great one in h&m recently- lovely thick fabric. You'd need to try it on though, it could do with being a little longer. I'm a shortarse so it's ok on me, could see it being too short on others...

Remus I have been on the same quest, with very little success. Eventually I bought this top from JL, which I know is not really fitting the brief brilliantly:

And also this River Island one which is now half price (but in very limited sizes).

Both of these are actually really nice on with high-waisted jeans as they sit just on the waistband, but my hunt does continue...

Thanks, Judy. Both too short for what I'm after though (and for the size of my stomach tbf!).
