Flares: show your shoes or skim the floor?

I don't often wear heels so my jeans are usually a bit shorter in length. I have flared jeans and fancied wearing them with a pair of wedge sandals that I haven't had the chance to wear for ages.

There will be quite a bit of shoe showing though (not up by my ankles by any means). Will this look ok or should I just wear flats?

You need the whole of the heel part of your foot to be covered, if you know what I mean.

I read in some magazine that it should how about an inch of the heel. Not too short but not skimming the floor either as you don't want to get frayed edges on the back end bit of the jeans

Depends on the type of shoe, IMO. High heels and floor-length trousers just look ludicrous to me ( see also Victoria Beckham circa 1999).

Went for flats in the end, thanks for your replies, was reading them while getting dressed and dashing for the door.

I like that length TSSDNCOP I'm not sure that these are quite long enough, I may have to buy another pair...

What TSSDNCOP says. Floor skimming just looks loke they are too long for you. Just a hint of shoe looks much better and less 'child growing into hand me down jeans'! [Grin]

Floor skimming makes you look like a pigeon street person.

No idea wrt flare length exactly but deffo not ankle skim. Or you get the dreaded Mum Jeans look.
