Rose Perfume?

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 19/05/2015 18:49

It is my mums birthday next week and she has asked for a Rose perfume. Not too overpowering (such as Jo Malone Red Roses) but one that is noticeably rose.

Anyone have any suggestions please?

Hermes Hermessence Rose Ikebana is amazing.

Rosie for Autograph at M&S is nice - 14 quid for 30ml so very reasonably priced.

Paul smith rose is lovely

Kleptronic · 19/05/2015 22:17

Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose is on offer in Superdrug, 50ml £25 down from £40. I wear it after a bath, it's lovely.

Stella by Stella McCartney is lovely.

Bakeoffcake · 19/05/2015 22:26

Stella McCartney perfume is beautiful- a rosey smell but very delicate.

The L'occitane one ....can't remember name

cremedecacao · 20/05/2015 00:00

I have D&G Rose The One too, lovely for every day.

Haggisfish · 20/05/2015 00:01

Paul smith rose and it is usually in a good offer on amazon!

SilverNightFairy · 20/05/2015 00:10

Second Juliette Has a Gun, Miss Charming. I get loads of compliments every time I wear it.

molecule01 · 20/05/2015 00:20

Marni Rose is the nicest imo

EleanorRigby89 · 20/05/2015 00:20

I have the Crabtree and Evelyn one which is lovely.

EuphemiaCoxton · 20/05/2015 07:03

Yardley or penhaligon.
But penhaligon is £££££

GatoNaranja · 20/05/2015 07:09

Another vote for Acqua di Parma's Rosa Nobile. (I also wear their Gelsomino Nobile which IMO is even more gorgeous)

I'm a big fan of rose and quite like the scents that are based on it such as YSL's Paris, Calvin Klein's Eternity and Lancôme's Tresor. But for a more definite rose you can't beat theAqua di Parma.

PetiteBateau · 20/05/2015 07:19

The paul smith one smells lovely but it fades to nothing on my skin in no time

I'd second the suggestions for:

Paul Smith Rose
L'Occitane Rose
Diptyque Eau Rose

From memory they were all decent rose perfumes (and all quite mono-dimensional roses, i.e. no other prominent notes to 'dislike' if you see what I mean...)

I'd also add:

L'Artisan Parfumeur Drôle de Rose (harder to find and more expensive, but really nice, subtler powdery rose)

People always recommend Frederic Malle Lipstick Rose too although I've never smelt it...

Good luck - hope you find something your mum loves!

Coastingit · 20/05/2015 20:49

I love Paul Smith Rose for summer, it's so light and fresh. Not brilliant staying power but better than my current Marc Jacobs Daisy which I'm using up as fast as I can to get more Rose.

florascotia · 20/05/2015 21:01

A golden oldie - Jean Patou's 'Joy'.

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 22/05/2015 22:27

My DM adores Joy so a good shout! I didn't even realise it was rose to be honest!
I am going into town tomorrow to do sniffing. I'm quite lucky to have a debenhams, house of fraser, harvey nichols and a space nk in town so I have a lot of options!

Any last minute suggestions welcome Smile

I love Roses de Chloe..

GoodSouls · 22/05/2015 23:02

Another vote for Paul Smith, but if you're going into Space NK look for Serge Lutens, Sa Majeste La Rose, it is beautiful and I think truly smells of rose. I think they may also stock it in House of Fraser.
