Long pixie cut with wavy hair?

Is this ever a good idea?

My hair is mainly wavy with a proper curly section right at the front, so my fringe needs to either be 'allowed' to be curly or be straightened. The rest is at best wavy, at worst frizzy (Scottish wind 'n' rain does NOT help Hmm) and currently about mid-back length.

I last had is short, proper man-short Grin, about 5 years ago, but feel the urge for a radical change…
Oh, and I am not one who will ever spend much time 'styling' my hair; I'm 49, I don't think I'll change now.

Help save me from myself!

I had the haircut that you like. There was soooo much work involved in styling it.

Burnished, is your hair naturally wavy or straight? Was the work involved in getting it to look good straight or curly?
