What sort of casual jacket do you wear for evenings

I have a few decent work coats from Phase Eight/John Lewis/Monsoon (might not be everyone's thing, just saying what mine is!) and a couple of dog walking coats from north face. However I don't have a jacket for going out for dinner, cinema, lunch during a weekend.
I don't think little fitted jackets are good on me - I just don't find them comfortable and I'm a bit bottomy so I think they exaggerate this.

I'd love a biker jacket but not sure where to look and I would prefer a pale colour as I'm fair and black/navy drain/age me. I'm also 47 so I wonder if my biker chick days are long gone!
What sort of jacket/coat do you wear if you're going out for dinner in jeans & heels? Or for a Saturday lunch with friends? Thanks

I've bought an amazing short black jacket from H&M on eBay a few months ago and it's been brilliant for wearing over jeans/tops going out. Waterfall front so not buttoned up but smart enough to wear over a sparkly top. I also have (from ebay) a sequinned jacket that I love over a plain vest top or my fail safe option is a biker jacket but mine is grey & really soft leather so not too rock chick.

Oh and it's not fitted do like the girl selling one I usually wear a longer top than jacket & it looks fine (I think )

I like a nice parka for casual evenings out (obviously would not wear one with a long frock). You can buy semi-glam ones and they look good with heels.
