Size up in the band though - the authentic vintage lack of stretch is a bit of a shock.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/05/2015 20:10

ah, too small

Need one in a 36J

Nice bralet though

Classic triumph doreen is made in your size.
I call them OXO bras.

Do you want the bra to actually look authentic or are you just after the pointy shape under clothes? A full cup bra might give you enough of the point look Smile

LaurieFairyCake · 10/05/2015 20:44

Yes just want it to look authentic - full cup ok.

I've had the Doreen before and wore it to bed as I don't like bras without wires, it's got no support.

According to my mad old auntie they used to make pads to put in their bras to get the pointy shape. Confused
Like these:

And they shoved them into long line bras.

It sounds very uncomfortable

LaurieFairyCake · 10/05/2015 21:01

That would barely cover my nipple Grin

Doreen here too, I love them, although DH says that they 'freak him out'. They do have underwired versions .... like Barbara Windsor in Carry on Camping.

Available really reasonably on Amazon depending on size/colour.

lavendersun · 10/05/2015 21:09

I lied .... Amourette not Doreen, they are a recent discovery (Triumph as a whole) I returned the Doreen to JL .

Still bullet like, less matronly.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/05/2015 21:17

That's a lovely bra

But is it Bullety? It looks like all the bras I own

Does it go pointy?

How can it freak your Dh out Grin

OP posts:

It does feel pointy (perhaps relatively though - to me who until recently wore sloggi crop tops). Bullets was the word I came up with when I discovered them.

The Doreen was much more pointy but too matronly, I just couldn't do it.

I think he thinks that my bust shape is heading towards that of his mothers, which is slightly freaky I suppose!!

FrancesHB · 10/05/2015 21:27

The Doreen comes up very very high. - I couldn't wear many of my own tops and had to buy high necked blouses etc.
