Just that really. Private room in a nice restaurant, 25 people. I want to look elegant, but not like I'm wearing a party dress

I'm 5'2 and a size 10-12 at the moment. I'm feeling over weight and a bit flabby, but scrub up ok. I've g money to throw at it, so can be low end designer, top end so sleeves and highstreet.

Thought?
I'd prefer a dress with a bit of coverage - no strappy dresses. Nothing body con - it's not me.

What about a ruched dress from me and em? Can be dressed up or down. Or a plain black wool shift from joseph.

Just had a quick look. Like it a lot, but they only seem to have XXL and XL left. I'm probably a M.

But that's definitely the sort of dress it up, day to night dress I want.

What shoes would you wear? I prefer closed toe and would probably go for a bold colour to go with a plain dress like that.

Anglomania is a good call. I think that the harp print one is a bit holiday in Barbados for this event (party is in North Scotland at the end of the month). Like the leopard print but worry I'd look a bit pudding-y. I'm quite short.

You won't look puddingy. Yes I would definitely wear a bright colour closed toe shoe.
