What do we think of the Mary portas range at debenhams?

I need new work wear.

I like dresses for work, I am not a morning person and they are easy to wear.

I like the block colours and the strong shapes she uses. I work in an office but it's informal, I'm the manager and at times I have to chair meetings with lots of partners, some quite high level/strategic, but I also come into contact with lots of clients and need to look smart presentable but approachable and not "bureaucratic"/stand offish.

I'm 38 and a size 14.

What do you lot think?

And apologies, it's not at debenhams it's house of Fraser. Duh.

I like her stuff a lot, yes. Cos is maybe worth a look too.

Hmmmm. A lot seem to be the tunic-y, square shape that only looks good on those with athletic body-types e.g. no hips/tummy.

Nettletheelf · 08/05/2015 00:02

I really want to like it, because I love Mary Portas, but I don't really. I find the dresses quite mumsy. I'm 43 and I think that quite a bit of the stuff is too old for me.

Preminstreltension · 08/05/2015 00:19

I like them but they are not for me. I think they are designed for her body shape - good legs, straight up and down. I'm hour glass with chunky legs and all those tunic dresses look horrific on me

BloggersNetwork · 08/05/2015 06:21

Are you tall? I'm a curvaceous 5.2" size 10 and cannot wear her stuff at all. Everything is shapeless and I agree with Premin, her clothes are designed for tall apples. I also think they're quite ageing, a lot of polyester, very 'Phase-eight-y* I think.

I can't wear baggy dresses and not look huge.
