Deodorant that doesn't smell weird by the end of the day

Just that really. Do you have any recommendations?

I was part of the Dove Green Cucumber rapture for a while, but then went off it. Now I'm less loyal and get what's on special in the supermarket, having had a crafty little spray and sniff first. However, me and my clothes smell unpleasant by the end of the day. Not BO ish just accrid. Anyone got any suggestions of alternatives or possible reasons?

Is it 'just may age'? (I'm 51) which seems to be the catch-all for everything else that might be different in life these days.

My polyester stuff is a bit whiffy but Mitchum roll on works on me generally.

Dove is working for me at the minute I spend three months using one then swap to another and that seems to work as I seem to get use to them and they stop working anyway

I alternate between dove (original blue one) and dove invisible dry. These are the only two I can use.

applecatchers36 · 07/05/2015 13:50

Dove blue works for me

NightsOfGethsemane · 07/05/2015 13:52

I sear by Mitchum Ultimate. Costs about a fiver but lasts all day.

I use either the MItchum in the green roll on, or Dove roll on.

both seem to work fine for me. Unless I have been exercising, then nothing will work.

I would suggest using the unfragranced Mitchum roll-on - I find it very effective indeed - and using your own favourite perfume as well. I do this, and because I don't put the perfume into the sweaty part of my armpit (I put it a bit lower down, if you see what I mean), I don't get that wierd smell by the end of the day.

Plus I only buy one antiperspirant, but can choose a different perfume each day.

I have used the pink Amplex roll on for years. I won't use anything else. Bonus is its cheap too. But I can only find it in Wilkos.

The dove cream deodorant is the one I find the best. Don't like the spray or the roll on.

Clarins for me. Costs £££ but it fantastic .

Allie82 · 09/05/2015 09:18

I found Mitchum too harsh for my skin. I always buy soft and gentle sprays now x

TheSpottedZebra · 09/05/2015 09:38

I can be a bit of a sweater and often need to chop and change deos, but Nivea stress protect has been my go to for a while now. The spray one.

TheHappinessTrap · 09/05/2015 10:34

Arm & Hammer non scented. It actually has a faint odd scent if you sniff the stick but it is scent free once on. I order it from Amazon. It also handily does not compete with scents I actually want to smell like such as my body wash and perfume!

shadesofwinter · 09/05/2015 10:37

I discovered the unscented Mitchum roll on last year for the first time and it's been a life changer for me.

goodasitgets · 09/05/2015 11:30

I like the dove 24hr one, it's about a fiver. Put it on before you go to bed and it lasts all day, plus no real smell by the morning

Madbengalmum · 09/05/2015 16:29

Sure maximum protection, brilliant, used it for a couple of weeks now dont have to use deodorant everyday, it is so good. Tried all of the other brands and this is soo much better. Use a small amount and you are protected for over a day, and as i say you then dont need it everyday.
