Are these shoes cool or will I look like I'm trying too hard...

I might be moving office soon from a traditional "city" office to a more relaxed one.
I'm thinking of wearing 7/8 length trousers, long sleeve t-shirts and a blazer with these shoes. Will I look like I'm trying desperately hard?

I like them. I like that whole look you describe, perfect for summer informal office. I just bought these with the same intention.

Personally I think they're a bit 'jazzy' for the office but you'll know better re your particular office... I like the idea of brogues with the 7/8 trousers though but maybe a little more low key?

mirpuppet · 04/05/2015 12:10

I think the white soles will get grubby quickly.

I like the style so maybe find another pair without white soles.

AddToBasket · 04/05/2015 12:11

I LOVE them! Get them, get them!

Seriously, they are great. I wouldn't think you were trying too hard. I'd want to be your pal.

Have just bought a pair of silver T bar flat sandals which, I will probably wear to work at some point over the summer, so go for it. If I west them if will be with navy skirt or trousers so everything else will be quite conservative.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/05/2015 12:20

I love them, I also have flat silver tbars and the white ones up thread but in red.

BigFatPanda · 04/05/2015 12:23

I was drooling over these this morning! Grin

I think that is a perfect outfit for that environment.

snowgirl1 · 04/05/2015 12:26

They're gorgeous, although personally I'd probably feel a bit self-conscious in them. I'd look enviously at someone else with the confidence to carry them off.

Amethyst24 · 04/05/2015 12:27

I have a very similar pair and I adore them!

BikeRunSki · 04/05/2015 12:29

I also love them. Your outfit doubds like what I think I wear in my informal office environment (but am actually far more scruffy as I often pop out to construction sites).

Coastingit · 04/05/2015 12:40

I'm not keen on the shoes personally but you are probably much hipper than me and look fab in them!

Any chance of a link to the silver t bar flats? More my kind of thing Grin

Coastingit · 04/05/2015 12:40

But meant to add OP that in general your planned outfit sounds great and not try hard at all.

AlistairSim · 04/05/2015 12:43

Love them.

Think you will look smashing.

enjoyingscience · 04/05/2015 12:46

That looks sounds amazing, and not at all try hard.

Do you think a woman with massive feet could carry it off? I'm very tempted but my size 8's might make it look like I'd stolen my very glamorous boyfriend's shoes...

HMF1 · 04/05/2015 13:10

Coastnight linking is beyond my IT capabilities but my silver T Bar flats are from Clark's, they are very comfy & I feel ridiculously happy in them, As I loved T Bar sandals as a child & my favourite shoes from childhood were a pair of white Mary- Jane's with pink & silver metallic thread running through them.(This was a very long time ago I am 51),

EuphemiaCoxton · 04/05/2015 13:14

I like them

polyhymnia · 04/05/2015 13:16

I love them and they are very similar to some I have too. They are definitely informal ( in a good way) but you are best place to judge the informality or otherwise of the new office.

polyhymnia · 04/05/2015 13:18

PS to PP who asked if OK for a size 8 I think yes. I'm a 41 and actually have a couple of similar and silvery pairs which usually get compliments.

Coastingit · 04/05/2015 13:23

Are these the Clarks silver t-bars? I like them, they look like a great option for work when ballet flats not supportive enough. I have black brogues from Dune but can't get over them feeling like men's shoes!

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 04/05/2015 13:25

Another vote of support from me, OP!

Chippednailvarnish · 04/05/2015 13:39

This is exactly what I'm thinking. I also think part of it is, that I'm (lowers voice to a whisper) an accountant, and have often received looks of surprise when being introduced to people. And that's not in a good way.

I'll order them and see.

Coastingit yes they are

Gem124 · 04/05/2015 13:51

I love them!
