Wedding (well, ceremony of commitment) on Saturday. My mother says I have to wear a hat as her and my sister are. (It's a kind of family war thing - the bride and bride are lovely, the brides family - my aunt - is not and there's lots of history - so Mum wants us to look fabulous).

anyway My dress is this print but a slightly different cut. Can I wear this with it? and vertiginous red heels

hmm. like the sound of the heels, think the hat might be a tad too much. I'd go for a plainer hat, or one of those feathery hair clip things myself.

but then I'm not 100% sure it's a good idea to take style advice from me. I'm sure you'll look fabulous anyway!

colette · 06/11/2006 19:57

no far too much imo

Prufrock · 06/11/2006 20:16

Oh bugger. But I LIKE the hat.

Then is OK, use it

There's one thing that is true about all weddings: No matter how hard you try someone is not going to be happy about something.

So, my advice is, do whatever you want. You are the one who has more rights to enjoy the day

Prufrock · 06/11/2006 20:23

No - NOT MY wedding. It's my cousin getting maried to her v. long term girlfriend. I don't want to be centre of attention at all - I (we) just want to show that our side of the family (who tbh are closer to my cousin than her own mother/brother are) are significantly better looking and more stylish than them. (Shallow, moi?)

fab outfit. love the dress especially.

AitchTwoOh · 06/11/2006 20:28

what is your hair like? how bright red can you handle your lippie? i'm not in love with the top hat on the plastic lady in the pic but if you've got a whole Little Nell thing going on and are feeling super-confident then it could be deeply wow.

you know that the second fascinator isn't particularly cheap, don't you? plus it'll be tricky to match the colour. can't you go to a hat shop with your dress and get something there (if you aren't feeing magnifica enough for the topper)?

harpsichordsgoingBANGandWHOOSH · 06/11/2006 20:28

I think yes.
second hat better.
there are some fab red heels in Hobbs.
great dress btw

harpsichordsgoingBANGandWHOOSH · 06/11/2006 20:29

actually I really like that second hat/fascinator

AitchTwoOh · 06/11/2006 20:29

the dress is a knock-out, by the way, you'll be very glam in it.

AitchTwoOh · 06/11/2006 20:30

i got a great fascinator (b/w) in my wee local place for £20, just to give you a guide price.

harpsichordsgoingBANGandWHOOSH · 06/11/2006 20:32

I love these shoes so much I may have to come to your cousin's wedding too to justify buying them

controlfreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky2 · 06/11/2006 20:39
