Playsuits ever work on anyone over 20?

I am a tad horrified by this, Confused but am very very tempted to purchase one of these. I am 40 and a fairly slim pear shaped size 10......... Would it every work?

I am
49! and have a jumpsuit which looks good I wouldn't wear a playsuit but would if it suited me.I wear little tops and shorts which is the same but not! I think you have to try things on

DownWithThisTypeOfThing · 29/04/2015 19:57

I actually think they're quite flattering if worn with a light cardigan and some nice accessories (silver necklace, pretty sandals). Ensure no camel's hoof though - I find it tough to get one to fit my body but I think I have short legs and long torso.

I dunno, I think it depends... I'm 27 and tried on a really nice one last summer. I only didn't buy it because it was a little pricey and then got pregnant so it wouldn't have fit for long anyway

Random story.

When I was 16 I saw a playsuit in a magazine. I phoned the company listed and they said it wasn't their's so it must be a mistake in the mag. I went to London with my boyfriend a few weeks later (from Scotland, my mum was very trusting!) and in the first shop we went into I spotted the playsuit! It was H&M at Oxford Circus and I wore it with a too-small body suit (ouch).

That was 25 years ago!

As you were.

My Tesco version was only about £16 I think. Never fancied a playsuit before but really liked the loose fit. I am quite busty size 8/10 bottom 14 top but surprisingly it still looked nice.

Coastingit · 30/04/2015 15:17

I'm mid thirties and a size ten and have one that is probably my most complimented outfit. It's from H and M, brown and cream palm print in a luxe polyester Grin and I wear it for nights out with nude heels and a black tux. It's very short but I have good legs and Rimmel sunshimmer

Coastingit · 30/04/2015 15:20

This isn't me but she looks like me and it's a similar look to my one here

Coastingit · 30/04/2015 15:22

This is very similar to mine - link

I am 42 and have a couple which I wear with opaques and either brogues or loafers. Tbh they just look like short dresses.

likalixer · 30/04/2015 16:08

Under 20, yes (but I saw lots of under 20's last summer that looked terrible in them). They are not the most flattering item of clothing out there, despite how cute they look on the hangers.
Over 20? Maybe on the beach, but otherwise just NO!! Don't go there!

likalixer · 30/04/2015 16:10

And maybe as an alternative to a dress on a night out. (even then, only on holiday and with a tan)
Everything and Anything 'looks good on holiday, especially with a tan.

LoadsaBlusher · 30/04/2015 17:01

I wear playsuits in summer and winter.
Love the short strappy ones on holiday , I wear big chunky jewellery and gorgeous sandals to glam them up.
I think they are really practical whilst running around with kids.
Last big night out I attended , I had on a black jumpsuit , loved it .
I am 33 and Size 10 , not that it should make a difference Grin
