Chubby Thigh chafe?

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 25/04/2015 20:21

i've been on a couple of hot holidays recently, and due to thigh rub (really bloody sore!) i've been reduced to wearing my shorts and cropped trousers.... and not my lovely skirts and dresses

i googled it and aparantly bodyglide is good for this? Has anyone tried this?

Ok, we've all been there. Carrying a little too much weight, slightly ill fitting clothing, heavy rain? Result? Chronic, painful chafing. Thanks to Bodyglide, the need for traditional petroleum products are fortunately now a thing of the past. Conceived in 1996 by a group of surfers trying to eliminate chafing, Bodyglide has the advantage of being hypo allergenic, non greasy and non oily thereby avoiding the messy stains associated with standard petroleum products. It works by creating an invisible barrier that protects the skin against chafing and blisters. By preventing skin trouble before it starts, Bodyglide helps to avoid the need for remedial first aid action.

I have Bodyglide, it was like a miracle for me. Did last all day, stays put and no more chafing.

Plus the tube lasts forever.

Pipbin · 25/04/2015 21:53

Sounds like a lube though.

Cocolepew · 25/04/2015 21:53

Asda do a liquid talc in the baby aisle. Its dead cheap.
I spray anti persperant (sp) on them. It works well but needs reapplyed after a couple of hours.

TheHappinessTrap · 25/04/2015 21:58

I did too surely cue! Luckily am also learning some helpful things while here. Went to Venice in summer last year and it was so unpleasant. I had to go shopping for cheap leggings and give up wearing the lovely clothes i'd taken!

ChaiseLounger · 25/04/2015 21:58

Now a size 14 they rub. But even as a size 10, they rubbed raw and were bleeding when I went travelling, after a'levels, in Italy and Greece, and swimming in the salty sea made me sob in Pain.
Guess it's just the shape I am.

Bandelettes are the deep garter type things. Apparently the plain (non lace) version are the best

goodasitgets · 26/04/2015 07:50

Or these shorts if size 14+

I'm a huge fan on body glide. Yes it needs reapplication, but I'd recommend it whole heartedly. In fact, this thread has reminded me to buy some more!

ShyGirlie · 26/04/2015 09:46

normal baby powder works pretty well, and is easy to stash in your handbag if you need to reapply.

in fact, i've started using it all over my body in hot weather - seems to prevent that horrible damp feeling of sweat on your back, between and under boobs etc. also a total game changer when put on your feet before wearing pumps or similar with bare feet!

love it, its my new must have! Grin

ShebaQueen · 26/04/2015 12:58

Do you find using baby powder causes white marks on your clothes Shy? Maybe it's because I wear a lot of dark coloured clothes, but I find the baby powder leaves me looking... well, powdery!

goodasitgets · 26/04/2015 13:29

I have just ordered these after reading the reviews

BodyGlide is amazing. For those who, haven't tried it, it comes in a container like a stick deodorant so you can roll it on.

TheCraicDealer · 26/04/2015 20:02

I got these before my hols last year. I like that I just whack them on in the morning under a dress or skirt and forget about them, rather than have to reapply cream. I also have "anti-chafe shorts" from fat face or somewhere which are cut that little bit lower so the tops of my thighs don't make friends repeatedly over the course of the day.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 26/04/2015 20:11

Loving the chubby thigh cafe.

Never tried anything for thigh chafing before as I am a fan if trousers not dresses.
Wedding coming up soon though and I definitely need something.

ShyGirlie · 26/04/2015 20:52

hi sheba,

no i've never noticed any white marks, unless i spill it directly onto my clothes. i just apply a dusting and spread it well, not caked on!
