Too late in the year for opaque tights on a night out?

Are we too far into spring for me to wear black opaque tights on a night out? I happily wear them in the winter, but will it look strange in April with a short dress? I do have a midi dress that I will begrudgingly wear bare legged if you all say tights will look odd.

My opaque tights remain glued to me year round.

If I had long, slim legs I might think otherwise probably still wouldn't give them up but bring short and muscly legged with a tendency to the corned beef look, my opaques are here to stay. I'm aware this mightn't be very "on trend" but I'm ok with that.

mindifidont · 25/04/2015 13:54

Eh, no. I wear them all year round!

mindifidont · 25/04/2015 13:54

But I haven't got very nice looking legs

DialsMavis · 25/04/2015 13:55

Your answers please me greatly. I can't go bare legged in a short dress

I think it depends on what the weather is like. If it's warm and sunny they might look a bit odd, but if it's cold or raining, bare legs will look silly. People seem to wear whatever they want nowadays, anyway, tbh.

I usually take Easter as a cut off point for black opaques, but dug them out again last week because it was so cold.

My legs are just like my rugby playing Dads legs. If I was gazelle like I would be slapping on the false tan and getting them out

Interesting as I have same question to resolve - whether to wear opaque or nude tights for a christening tomorrow, when I think it will probably be quite sunny but not very warm. Am inclining to opaques at moment.

DialsMavis · 25/04/2015 13:59

Weather changeable here Remus, I had my sandals on last week but it's cloudy and warm here now after being freezing the other day.
I'll have a few options ready and decide before I go out.

I might retry with nude tights, I like the cloaky security of opaques. I know deep down my legs look the same in them, but I feel better... Unless everyone else has their thin, bronzed pins out

Assume footless tights have well and truly had their day?

Footless rights are great!! Hide the horrid veins but you can still wear nice shoes with them!!

I'm a tights/leggings all year round, I'm too conscious of the veins!

Judydreamsofhorses · 25/04/2015 14:18

I'm in Scotland and it's a rare day I go out in a dress without opaques. I think three times last year, and those were midi-length dresses.

lurkingaround · 25/04/2015 14:29

Depends on the weather. Last week, no. Tonight? Abso-bloody-lutely. It's freezing out there.

Itsalldramarama · 25/04/2015 16:36

If I was going out tonight I would ! Freezing and pouring down !!

JemimaPuddled · 25/04/2015 16:52

Same question, I've got to go out to dinner tonight, gorgeous blue knee length dress and I have milk bottle white legs. Opaques it is Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/04/2015 17:19

I'm going out tonight. I have solved the leg problem by wearing skinny jeans.

DialsMavis · 25/04/2015 18:29

I might do jeans, now I know I can walk in some impulse buy heels. I'm going to retry everything again whilst bathing DD

Don't think my skinny jeans will cut it for the christening tomorrow .
