So my hair used to be a fab auburn red. It has faded as I've got older (48) and I've been having half a head of highlights for the last 7/8 years which has helped. Today I had my first semi-permanent colour - wanted more grey coverage. And I was trying to get back to the red I used to be but it looks all wrong. As I have hit menopause my skin has got more high colour - I have tiny broken veins on my cheeks and I sometimes look red despite make-up. I don't want to be a variation on honey blonde - I crave to look like Julieanne Moore or Sarah Rafferty. But do I need to accept that my red days are over? the hairdresser today said the redder my hair goes the redder my skin will look but I'm not sure I believe her! help!
