Sockies and invisible trainer socks that don't disappear under your foot

OK…I am a size 7…M&S and Sainsbos (packs of three) both say theirs fits 4-8. The heel of the sock migrates under the sole of my foot in minutes once my shoe or trainer is on. It's so annoying…I can't stand the sensation and have to remove immediately. Are there any brands you can recommend that just stay put?

Watching with interest.
I take three steps and the sock slides off my foot!!

Gatekeeper · 21/04/2015 15:13

I bought some from Primark at the weekend (2 pairs for a quid) called Invisible Socks. Wore them all day yesterday with deck shoes and they stayed put

Financeprincess · 21/04/2015 15:18

I ordered a load of different ones on spec recently, having had the same problem.

Get the Elle cotton rich shoe liners (£3) from sock shop.com. They didn't come off despite rigorous testing (me, charging around the shops in ballet pumps) and they don't show!

They beat the Falke ones that cost £15.

They only have black in stock at present, but you can't see them anyway.

This is all good to know…is it just a problem with the larger sizes do you think? I was wondering whether to get mens socks in the next size up…I'm just worried that there'll be too much fabric and they'll show too much. I don't have a Primark nearby, unfortunately.

I am a 7.5 and I got mens ones from
M&s these I think in 6-7.5. They have been the best I've tried so far.

Financeprincess · 21/04/2015 17:03

I'm a size 8 and I've had no problems.

CMP69 · 21/04/2015 18:38

I bought some in Next which are perfect. I have size 6-7 feet depending on the shoes

ParkingFred · 21/04/2015 18:43

I buy the m&s trainer socks from the kids' range as I have size 3 feet.

I would get small men's if I were you.

Bamaluz · 21/04/2015 18:56

Years ago trainer socks used to have a little bobble at the back to stop them slipping down into the heels of the trainers, I wonder why they stopped making them like that.

I do realise that was no help at all. Just pondering.

hollyisalovelyname · 21/04/2015 19:13

I'm a size 5 and they disappear under my foot too. Bl**dy awful.

Bonsoir · 21/04/2015 19:13

The French brand Bleu Forêt does brilliant ones.

ChocolateIsMySleep · 21/04/2015 19:20

Ooh I sympathise, it's so annoying when they do that! I got some recently from H&M with a little sticky silicon bit at the back. Haven't worn them loads but seem to work so far! Smile

ChocolateIsMySleep · 21/04/2015 19:20

Oh, and they were cheap too!

bigTillyMint · 21/04/2015 19:22

I am a size 6. I can't stand it when they slip down, so I buy mens one in the next size category up - so like 7-9 or something. PerfectSmile

Rosebag · 21/04/2015 19:48

Okey dokey. Men's socks it is then. Smile

Grin I hadn't realised the OP was you Rose!

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 21/04/2015 20:42

I'm a 7 and buy the mens M+S sockie things, and they stay on fine :)

Allie82 · 21/04/2015 20:42

Primark ones are really good

PurpleShoes69 · 21/04/2015 20:45

Medical tape (the type that holds dressings on) - you can get it from Boots etc.

CapnMurica · 21/04/2015 21:21

I got some from Primark, they come up higher on the foot at the front so they are better.

Converse do good trainer socks, proper socks as well. They are fairly pricey (I think £15 for three pairs?) but they are worth it IMO.

CointreauVersial · 21/04/2015 22:39

Rose - you need the ones with the little silicon strips at the back of the heel. Next do nice ones in cotton. They don't budge an inch.

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2015 08:06

That's a good tip, CV!

TheFutureMrsB · 22/04/2015 08:11

Asda/George do men's socks with the silicon grip at the back, not sure if they do women's too but they stay put. £3 for 3 pairs.

GingerLemonTea · 22/04/2015 08:47

These are good size wise & super comfy but v bright if they show...

socks

Thelovecats · 22/04/2015 08:53

The m&s men's ones have silicon bit at heel as well. Definitely helps.
