Chinese Mary Jane slippers for children? Or similar.

I used to wear these as a child (hope the picture loads). They were supremely comfortable and I loved them. I'm on the hunt for child-sized ones for DD (4), to wear as summer school shoes as her feet get so hot in her regulation leather sandals. It is really difficult to find them in children's sizes, which surprises me as they were most definitely children's footware when I grew up. Any ideas? I appreciate it's not exactly style and beauty, but I thought some of you eagle-eyed patrons of this board might have seen some around? Or have suggestions for something similarly canvas / cotton light and cool for summer school shoes?

M&S do Mary Jane's in a canvas fabric which is suitable for summer. It costs about £5, I bought a pair for my dd.l

I wore those as a teenager - had some lovely green and blue velvet ones. I've not seen any for years but Sports Direct had some similar-ish ones instore yesterday - a bit flimsier though so I'm not convinced they'd be suitable for all day wear. These are the ones MsAspreyDiamonds mentions I think - a bit more supportive. Have to say though, I'd imagine leather would be more breathable - I'm certain my Chinese slippers used to really honk.
