Graduated curly Bob not what I was hoping for - can it be fixed?

Made the mistake of going to a different hairdresser. Sad
The first pic is me after cut and colour - I like the colour but the cut just isn't right. I think it's too long at the back. I feel like a shapeless floppy spaniel. The second two pictures are images I've pinched off google in order to show the hairdresser when I go back. Which do you think is better?

I love number 3!

velourvoyageur · 19/04/2015 13:33

I prefer what you've got now to either of the other two, think it looks great!

legolegolego · 19/04/2015 13:34

I like number 3 the best too, but I think it looks really nice on you how it is!

CtrlAltDelicious · 19/04/2015 13:42

Thanks all, I appreciate that. I like 3 best too - I think the lift at the back gives it a bit more..something. And thanks velour, I'm starting a new job tomorrow and can't get it cut before then so it's nice to know it's not currently awful! Grin

ooh good luck with the new job! it's definitely nowhere near awful silly billy :)

netty36 · 20/04/2015 19:56

It looks beautiful. You have lovely hair.

burnishedsilver · 20/04/2015 20:13

I like your picture the best. I wonder if you managed to dry it with a tighter curl at the back would it be closer to no 3.

scratchandsniff · 20/04/2015 20:15

I think your hair looks really nice as it is.

TheQueenOfSparta · 20/04/2015 20:29

I love your hair colour and style

CapnMurica · 20/04/2015 20:50

Your third pic is practically identical to the picture I have been taking to hairdressers for three years. I think they are scared to cut it too short.

I've given up now. They won't cut it how I want - last time I asked her to cut it shorter at the back and she refused! Why aren't hairdressers better trained at curly hair!

(And also your hair looks lovely the way it is)

CapnMurica · 20/04/2015 20:51

I think if you style it and ask them to dry cut it, it might be better? They can control the style better?

I think this is what I will ask for next time (although I've just cut my own hair....)

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 20/04/2015 20:57

I think your hair looks lovely. I've got curly hair but wouldn't have the courage to have it cut like yours!

CtrlAltDelicious · 21/04/2015 18:16

Oh thank you guys!!
I'm embarrassed to admit I don't dry it or style it - I wouldn't have a clue how. I wash it and put some curling cream in and hope for the best! Capn I bloody know! I have had some awful cuts by people who don't get curly hair. They wet it to cut it but don't realise how much it's going to bouncy back up when it's dry! Sad
I do think I'm going to get some cut off the back but as my crap estate agents STILL haven't sent me my deposit cheque back (21 days after moving!!!!) I'm totally skint, so for now it will just have to do! Grin

You have beautiful hair. OOI what curling cream do you use?

reddaisy · 21/04/2015 19:44

I much prefer your cut to the ones you have taken off google, I think the third one is just how I used to have mine when I was at school nearly 20 years ago! So it feels a little dated to me, your actual hair is making me feel like cutting mine short to a bob again.

And yes, I have had so many lopsided haircuts in my time because hairdressers treat my curly hair the same as straight. V annoying.

CtrlAltDelicious · 21/04/2015 19:45

TY Recovering
I currently use Twisted Sista @ 99p from Home Bargains. Blush
In fairness I spent £6 on Frizz Ease and I swear to God it actively gave my hair frizz!!!

Reddaisy, is cut 3 really a bit dated? Hell! I guess I just don't like feeling it on my neck and would rather trim it down a bit...

reddaisy · 21/04/2015 20:23

It might be that I was ahead of the times! Grin

reddaisy · 21/04/2015 20:30

It looks gorgeous how it is and good luck in your new job!

itsveryyou · 21/04/2015 23:13

It's gorgeous! I recently went from curly chin length bob to graduated and I love the feeling of no hair on the back of the neck and the way the curls respond to a bit of water and product - low maintenance is key to me. My hairdresser cut it super short in the back and it stacked up nicely, though I have grown it out a little, because the front and back seemed to grow at different speeds and so I ended up with a bit of a random 'two haircuts' look for a few days! Yay for curls girls!

IlonaRN · 22/04/2015 07:40

I love your hair just how it is! I wish my hair were more curly so I could get a similar cut!

toastandmarmiterocks · 22/04/2015 14:03

wow, I think your hair looks great, I wouldn't change it.
