Please recommend a bra (size36 F) that doesn't feel like a torture device

I used to wear a C cup but since measuring myself properly, I'm an F cup. Well, I went from 36C to 34 FF but trying on tons of bras in Debenhams, the ones which fit me well are 36F. However, I find them so uncomfortable and it is the extra fabric at the side which is hurting me. Just because I have a larger cup size doesn't mean I suddenly have more body between the underside of my boob and my armpit. The under wire digs into my armpit with the F cup bras. Does anyone make an F cup bra that has the same width of fabric at the side as a C/D cup bra?

is it the debenhams gorgeous? Everybody says it runs small, so with other brands, you might need a 34 band. I haven't tried them myself, but if too high wires are a problem, Curvy Kate has more shallower ones than many brands, and also Freya might work.

OK, when you say the underwire digs in to your armpit, do you mean the top of the wire? Can you tell us which bras you bought?

Having gone from a C cup you are probably going to find the bras a bit odd at first. The pressure points will be in a totally different place - the cup should totally encase your breast tissue so it will come further round than you are used to. That's totally normal - a good bra is wide-ish. But going from a C...it's a bit like when you first put sandals on in the summer and they hurt your feet because your feet just aren't used to straps/have been in boots all winter.

That said, there is a fair amount of variance in the cuts of bras. Curvy Kate and Freya are quite wide, whereas Cleo and Panache are narrower as a rule, but Panache often has quite tall wires. A half cup will have shorter wires than a balcony normally.
