I love ochre and mustard colours. Sadly with sallow skin, it aint happening! Everytime i look at things online, i like the ochre ones. Its annoying!!! Are you attracted to colours you just dont suit? I know i can buy bottom halfs in that colour but its always bloody tops and dresses that catch my eye.

I love blue. It really doesn't suit me (I'm autumn colouring). I do buy accessories (shopping bags, umbrellas) in blue though Smile

Yes, I know that feeling. Any way you could use statement jewellery or a scarf or cardi/jacket in a more suited to you colour to get round the not being able to buy the ochres/mustards for your top half?

I've got dresses in every color. I love dress and love colors. Never had my colors done though. Sounds intetesting

I love black clothes but unless I'm tanned or heavily made up, I look like I've been dug up if I wear them. I get round most colour issues by wearing scarves. If the colour isn't right next to my face I can generally get away with most things.

I'm drawn to greys and pale colours which just drain me of any colour at all, I've got a few wardrobe mistakes lurking at the bottom of drawers which I really should get rid of. I tend to try and go for shoes/bags in the colours I love, but which don't suit my skin tone.

Definitely have your colours done Iliveinalighthouse - I had mine done years ago & still use the colour swatches they gave me (although I've never quite got up the courage to wear orange). I discovered that I shouldn't wear black any near my face, if at all, as it makes me look ill.

I love blue too Itscurtains & I'm in danger of wearing nothing else this summer as it's absolutely everywhere!

I always was. I liked ochre, caramel, tan, olive green, cream, nude. I wore them for years, sort of secretly knowing they didnt particularly suit me but SO wanting them to Grin.

Got my colours done last year and it basically trashed every colour I have ever worn. Even black (half my wardrobe was black). It took me nearly a year to accept and start buying some clothes in the colours that DO suit me. Totally out of my comfort zone - charcoal grey, silver, white, cobalt blue, navy, raspberry (wtf!), even forest green and emerald.

BUT...I can say hand on heart...having bought more and more clothes in 'my colours' and seen how they totally change the way I look for the better...I have now trained myself away from gravitating towards the ochre-ish palette. I've ditched gold jewellery for silver. I never, ever buy anything cream (it looks vile on me I now realise...white is so much better for me). Ochre looks hideous on me, I can see now Grin

Well i have never had my colours done but i just know to steer clear of anything with yellow tones in it because of my skin tone. Ive tried to stay away from ochre but it still surprises me as yesterday i was looking at a dress in next and was considering buying it until i looked at the colours and yes, ochre was the main one!!! Brown is also awful.

I'm the same - ochre and greens, olives all suit me as an autumn but I am drawn to mint greens, pale turquoise blues.. Don't suit me at all and make me look ill but I still own a few gorgeous dresses in those colours - I just stroke them every now and then lol

I look great in green but never seem drawn to buy it even though it's otherwise my favourite colour Hmm

burnishedsilver · 16/04/2015 11:21

Buy shoes and bags for a splash of the colour you love without having it near your face.

HazleNutt · 16/04/2015 16:13

Yes, I love bright colours like turquoise or hot pink, but they totally drain me. And I get loads of compliments when I wear muted pastels.

Greengardenpixie · 16/04/2015 16:34

Shoes and bags are a good idea :)
