Boys black cotton shorts...then hunt starts again!

I'm searching the internet to try and find smart black shorts for school for my son (12-13 yrs) as he has eczema and has to wear cotton.
Every year I have a nightmare finding them but I can't find ANY this year (apart from Asda who are always out of stock).
Any ideas where I can find some?

Can you get black trousers and shorten them? You wouldn't need a sewing machine.
