Birkenstock Madrids slip offs not slip ons

Does anyone else have trouble with them? I couldn't get them to stay on my feet last summer so took them to timpsons and they put an extra hole in the strap. I forgot about this and just got them out for this summer, and my God they are tight! How I managed last year I don't know, probably cos they were new and didn't want to admit waste of money!! So if I loosen them they'll fly off, if I keep them tight they'll cut off my circulation.

Am I the only one with this problem?!

Are they the single strap ones? I had to charity shop mine after a couple of wears. Couldn't keep them on. Love my toe post ones though.

I have had the same problem, I just don't know how people wear the Madrid's Confused

I can't remember how to link. Yeah it's the single strap one that goes across the foot, from the bunion to the bunionette Wink

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem! Aibu then to replace them?

I find mine stay on and are very comfortable. I do have quite wide feet though.

I have the Gizeh style too they feel more secure to drive in . still adjustable across the top. Try those?

I have these and I love them. I did buy mine in the tiniest size - size 2 with the smallest width. I think width is very important. When I bought mine the shop assistant was very helpful and really recommended I order from Birkenstock so I could select narrow. Most shops will only stock the standard ones

GlitterySparkles · 14/04/2015 21:28

I have wide size 4.5 feet and I ordered up to a 5, normal width. Is that the problem do you think? That the shoe is too big?

I think that is your issue there. I have size 3.5 feet and as mentioned mine are a 2. They should be absolutely snug all the way round

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2015 21:35

Try a normal width 3

SanityClause · 14/04/2015 21:39

They should not be snug all the way round, at all!

Your feet should not touch the edges, but should sit in the "dish" when flat, and only touch the edges as you walk.

People usually buy them too small, and then wonder why they are uncomfortable.

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2015 21:45

That is what I meant sanity. I expressed it badly.

Yep - in the dish.

GlitterySparkles · 14/04/2015 21:51

Width wise they're fine but they are a bit too long. So that means a size 4 would have been better in a wide? Do they do a wide one?
