Fit and flare dress for weirdly long waisted woman?

This type of dress suits me as I'm sort of cello shaped - sort of hourglass but bigger on the bottom half. Unfortunately my natural waist and therefore narrowest point is far lower than most clothes so anything with a belt or waist seam hits me halfway between bust and waist. Is there any hope for me? Is there a label more likely to fit?

Perhaps buy from a tall range and shorten the hem.

Yes I wondered about that though I'm looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and the only place I can think of that does tall ranges is Next which isn't really what I'm looking for. I suppose I'm wondering if any labels are cut in a way that's more likely to fit - e.g I've found Dickins and Jones more short waisted than most so maybe there's something that is more long-waisted than most. And where better to ask than the mighty collective knowledge of Mumsnet!

Boden do tall dresses too but I'm not sure if they have much that's dressy enough for a wedding. Might be worth a look.

Have you tried drop waisted dresses? I have a long body and am a bit pear shaped, and find them very flattering.

J Crew

I'm long waisted but find that monsoon dresses often fit me well.

This from asos tall could work as a midi length.

Thanks all for the suggestions I'm working today but hopefully will get a chance to look online later. Sadly I think J Crew might be out of my price range but I'll take a look Hadn't thought of ASOS and Monsoon def worth checking out
