Shopaholics! Please help me find a similar coat for ds!

Saw this coat in M&S the other day, but they did not have it in my son's size (11-12). They are sold out nationwide, would you believe, and the sales assistant couldn't promise me that they would be getting any more in this season. - which only has another 6 months to run! Silly me for leaving it until it got cold to think about buying ds a coat.

Anyway, in case you can't really tell from the link, it is one of those 3 in 1 coats with a zip in fleece jacket inside the waterproof main part of the coat. It is this feature that I really want - colour is less important though I suppose it will end up being navy, black or grey anyway.

So who else is selling a coat similar to this? Please help me look as I find shopping deadly dull.

This is the first one I found - you'll be able to get it in Millets as well.
This and this are a bit more expensive, although that second one is available at a much lower price here , and you often get Regatta stuff reduced in Mountain Warehouse etc.

This one is well-priced but not available in 11-2 (grr) - nor's this but if he can bear a 13-14 the blue version might be worth a shot.

Don't know how waterproof the JL version would be, but you could always cheat and get a school uniform one.

Or there's another one here

phew!

Well, I was going to try and help but I think Mrs Badger has doing it all!! LOL

FawkesyFimbo · 02/11/2006 13:27

*doing = done

Blimey MrsB - you truly are the queen of links.

DumbledoresFawkes · 02/11/2006 14:17

Crikey Mrs badger. You take my breath away! Errr, how long did that take you and have you really nothing else to do this pm? Seriously, thanks!

I was in John Lewis same day as I went to M&S and could find nothing appropriate at all. I wondered if boys over 10 were supposed to wear coats from what they had for sale! But judging by your links, the kind of coat I want is mostly to be found in outdoor shops rather than fashion shops so perhaps I would have had more success if I had looked in the outdoor section rather than school uniform and fashion sections.

I don't know what to choose from this. I am not used to buying clothes on the internet and I am not sure what would be better. Has anyone any reccomendations, either of individual coats shown here, or of the retailers?

"recommendations" - ds3 is playing a glockenspiel very loudly in my ears right now!

Blacks own Millets or visa versa. You should be able to get the first jacket linked in either of them. I have bought my dc winter coats from Millets for the last 2 years and haven't had any problems with them.

LIZS · 02/11/2006 14:27

this?

DumbledoresFawkes · 02/11/2006 14:51

LIZS - thanks but when I clicked on it, it is currently out of stock! There must be millions of well wrapped up 11-12 year old boys out there!

Thanks Fimbo, will concentrate on those two then.

Or, sudden thought! I wonder if La Redoute do them as I have a money off voucher somewhere...Must look for the catalogue....

only about 10min, was killing time at work waiting for a phone call. It's all in the Google syntax.

I'd go to Millets or Blacks if you can get to one and try it on in real life - they may also have more in store than online. Peter Storm and Regatta are both good brands but I don't think I have any experience of any of the retailers I linked to, except JL who are generally good.
