Malasma

I've had 2 chemical peels and laser treatment for what I thought was pigmentation. May now be malasma. I'm Asian and have 2 patches one on each cheek.

It's affecting my self esteem and cover up by MAC doesn't cover it fully.

Can anyone help? Seeing a dermatologist soon on NHS.

I have patches on my cheeks and use tretinoin /hydro mix from Dermatica, but now I'm worried about people mentioning long term effects? Been using it for 2 months and I do think it seems lighter.

@mariapugsley I know this thread is very old, but which dermatologist you went to see for your melasma?
I've just come back from holidays with two new large spots on my cheeks and I'm considering going to an expert instead of spending money with many cosmetic products or laser treatments that might be effective. Thank you

Any dermatologist will advice you a good treatment.
I just went to 1 appointment and was enough to understand what happened to my skin and guide me what to do.

Melasma unfortunately has no cure. It gets worse in summer and it clears in winter, but we live on creams.

Pigmanorm is quite strong, to be used only on spots, and is very good, but uk prices are forbidden more than £100 a tube.
I bought them when I went to Europe, with my dermatologist prescription, the farmacist in Spain requested it for be and arrived in 2 days it costs only £25 the tube.
Originally is from Germany.

The dermatologist prescribed me as 2nd option an alternative cream which now my Dr can provide me as repeated prescription regularly, is a exfoliator for the nights and moisturising for the day.
Also neutrogena sunblock 100+ I find in USA websites
