Harems again!

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 07/04/2015 08:56

Right, I tried harems last year post pregnancy and couldn't cope with all my leg wobble! Anyway, having lost most post baby weight I've just bought two pairs and love them!

However, I'm not too sure what to wear on my feet. I have a pair of cork heel wedges with suede uppers. Sound any good? Besides that I'm stuck. I have wide size 7 feet so can't do trainers and don't think I should anyway. They have such a narrow cuff I can't wear my cons either. Any ideas?

Also on top I'm currently wearing a vest top as I have chucked everything out of my wardrobe and I'm on the hunt for a few nice tshirts. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think a jersey blazer would smarten them up nicely but not sure where has any at present, Zara maybe?

They're really nice! Any wedges would look good too. Really want the KG ones!

Apple, a pair I had from H&M last year were cotton blend but they went saggy bum and knees after half a day of wear :-(

I like the style of the Clarks ones but not with harems, I saw a lady yesterday wearing a red pair with skinnies and it looked fab!

I liked the striped pair from Schuh that you linked.

Laska42 · 08/04/2015 21:10

the Hush ones are a cotton blend.. they are expensive, but you can get 5% quidco, and free postage with HAPPY15 and also 10% more off with ENJOY10..

I've just got my first pair ,they are a great cut and they also have great reviews on MN for lasting and not bagging.. I have high hopes of them..
I did try the Next ones , but they were horrible fabric and felt flimsy and badly cut

The Monsoon Elina are viscose and really summer trousers but are really nice and hang and was well...

Pippin8 · 08/04/2015 21:15

What's the sizing like on the hush ones?

Laska42 · 08/04/2015 21:25

I'm 5' 6 and size 10/12 have bought the S/M and they are fine...Ankle length on me . .

Gem124 · 08/04/2015 21:34

I really want the KG ones! Any heeled sandals would look lovely. I like the stripe ones you've chosen too :-)

PrimroseVilliers · 08/04/2015 21:47

I'm 5 ft 4 and a size 10/12 and I've got two pairs in a S/M and one pair in a size XS and they're both absolutely fine . Ankle length on me too

oigetoffmycheese · 08/04/2015 22:08

See I think you need a chunkier shoe or flip flops. If the shoes are too flat I feel like all I need is a flying carpetBlush

mowglik · 08/04/2015 22:09

I love harems, have them in loads of different shapes inc dropped crotch Confused

In the summer i wear them with sandals or espadrilles and in autumn/spring with wedge trainers or ankle boots (sounds weird but i think it looks quite nice)

oigetoffmycheese · 08/04/2015 22:09

Ps. I'm 5ft 3 and size 8-10. The xs are a perfect fit

Lambzig · 08/04/2015 22:13

I ordered some from Hush and have been thinking about sending them back, but this thread is quite inspiring.

They do look nice on and flattering, but I am wondering if I will brave them.

PrimroseVilliers · 08/04/2015 22:16

The problem I have is my husband singing ' Stop! Hammer time! ' every time I walk past Hmm

Laska42 · 08/04/2015 22:19

It was my DH who encouraged me to get some aftre seeing them on other women ( I think he has secret Pasha fantasies ) Grin

AppleYumYum · 08/04/2015 23:32

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 09/04/2015 13:44

Ooh mowglik where did you get your dropped crotch ones from? I'd love some! Saw some beautiful ones on etsy via Pinterest but they were sold Sad

mowglik · 10/04/2015 08:49

thestyle I got them from eBay, think they were called thai fisherman or something - the ultimate dropped crotch trousers (for me) are Rick Owens but they are too £££!

HavingAnOffDAy · 10/04/2015 09:25

Wenglish · 10/04/2015 09:42

Elastic waist?
Did you size up?

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 10/04/2015 20:16

Thanks mowglik I will take a look!

Wenglish they have an elasticated waist yes. I didn't size up, there was no discernible difference on the waist to me between the 6 and the 8 but I don't know about the other sizes.

I'm not sure if they are those ones but I linked to the ones I bought toward the top of the thread.

Wenglish · 11/04/2015 09:10

Thank you, I bought them in navy and sized down to an 8.

They are perfect! Thank you
