My hairdryer went bang. Recommend me one please..

My hairdryer must be about 10 yrs old and it's gone bang.

I have dry wavy hair with a mind of its own. I want sleek shiny hair that I can swing seductively.

Please recommend me a hairdryer, or tell me what you love / hate about yours. And do you need attachments?

Parlux. Simple and doesn't come with a million gadgets but it's smallish, lighting and powerful. Also good value compared to high end brands.

The GHD Air is also good but it is much more £££

I use both at the gym and my hairdresser has both too, when my 10 year old crappy Remington broke (long lived but woefully underpowered) 18mo ago I replaced with a parlux.

GHD Air here. I have never had a naice hairdryer before, it's amazing. Light enough, fast, high powered, makes my hair sleek and smooth. It has two concentrator nozzle things. It is very spenny but I got it when GHD were doing one of their fairly regular offers so it cost £79, only a little more than a Parlux.

Try changing the fuse in the plug.

I bought the ETI 3200 as a slightly cheaper alternative to a Parlux about 8 months ago and it seems to be doing well so far. I've only ever had hairdryers that screech and burn my scalp off or sound asthmatic before, so this was a revelation. And it's the brand that my lovely hairdresser uses, so that's good enough for me.

I've recently got a babyliss tourmaline gold 2100w AC motor dryer, very pleased with it although it is on the heavy side. Shiny and soft hair, dried quickly, 3 heat setting, 2 speed setting, cold button. It was £34.99 at Argos.

Btw, 'lighting' was supposed to say 'light' !

Parlux. Makes SUCH a difference.

Parlux as well here. It has really changed my life - I have dry curly/frizzy hair which even after blow drying I would need to straighten not to have a massive head of hair. Since I bought my Parlux hairdryer i can just blow dry my hair and it's done! I've had it for over 2 years now but still makes me happy every time I use it

I changed my hairstyle a couple of months ago so for the first time in my life am not blow-drying my hair and I actually miss using the Parlux. Now only does the DDs' hair but it does them in about a minute each (Ok so they're only young still but both have disproportionate amounts of hair).

Veloce. They're Parlux but cheaper. The salesman in Sally's recommended it to me just as I was about to buy a Parlux. Brilliant.

I have the GHD air, it's very heavy so took some getting used to but it calms my snakes in no time at all. I used to just buy £20-30 ones before but was given this by DP, love it now.

Any suggestions as to which parlux model to get?

I went to Sally's beauty supply on the last VaT free day two weeks ago and asked the salesperson about a Parlux and she recommended me a Diva ionic hairdryer wish was half the price. She said that she rarely sells Parlux as years ago they were the hairdryer to buy as the technology was new but nowadays (like Ghd) the technology is more widely available and you can get the same hairdryer for a lot cheaper.

ETI, recommended by my hairdresser and growing strong 4 years on. Haven't ever had a hairdryer as efficient before, dries my masses of hair in minutes.

I ordered a Parlux on Monday morning.

Burnished, I have the "eco" model (3600?) but have seen the 3200 recommended elsewhere. Not sure of the differences tbh, I agonised about this before I bought mine though!

So had the Parlux for a few weeks now.

In fairness to the hairdryer my hair is an utter mess. It is 3 inches too long and not been to the hairdresser since Dec (due to a back injury so I couldn't sit down long enough to be cut/dye or anything).
At this point my hair should be awful.

But I am looking good, looking swishy.

I dry my hair when it's damp not straight from the shower and it is taking much less time than before.

Liking it more and more.
