Where can I find a sexy but not tarty short evening dress?

I am going to a party which requires me to wear a glamorous frock. I have several lovely understated black tie type dresses but fancy something a bit more fun. As I am not in the habit of buying dresses like this I don't know where to look.

If it helps, I am 45, 5'4" size 8 and blonde.

Try asos. Huge variation in cost and quality but essentially it's a huge walk in wardrobe of "in" fashion stuff so there should be something there.

Thanks Fairylea I've had a look and there are a couple of possible dresses there.

Any other suggestions?
