HELP! Need a fab dress/outfit for important party (house)!!

Any advice welcome! I really need to find a dress or outfit to wear to a friends 30th party. Invite says cocktail dress but is at her house so don't want to be too formal ( i know she is wearing posh dress but then added over footless tights or black jeans). So i need to find something special but not too cocktaily if that makes sense!

I just go in a panic at the word dress as they never seem to suit me. I'm 5'6 and size 12 but am quite pear shaped with small boobs. Anyone got any ideas?

Dorothy Perkins have got the most lovely little black dress in at the moment.

It's a simple knee length wrap dress with long sleeves and very flatteringly makes smaller boobs look bigger (I should know!!)
Wore it with long black boots.

I think I paid £30 for it. Bargain!

Any good?

How about something like this ? Gorgeous colour, and the sort of style of top that those with boobs can't get away with. Bit of waist definition?

Love this one - wrap style neckline good, also empire line so will skim over 'pear shape' lower half. And in the sale!

Oooh! These are just the sort of things I need!

Jackie, really like the principle dress, actually like the top version on the right, but not sure what would go with. Also, love the red debenhams dress.

Nailpolish, really like the purple dress, is it v short to wear?

well, i'm probably somewhere i the middle, nearer to you , so dress should be nearer to knee than bum!
