Salt Water Sandals.

So my most recent pair of Haviaianas have died a death and I can't face buying another pair. They are comfortable but this summer I want something more secure.

So I have decided to buy a pair of salt water sandals. I've been taken in by all the promise of being able to wear them in the sea and let them dry to your feet and so be super comfortable. I love that you can chuck them in the washer as well.

I'm aware they are a bit grandma. I tend to wear leggings, skinny jeans and denim shirts and sundresses in the summer and am quite fair skinned. Please could someone advise me which colour to go for out of these?:

I have the Orange and gold they are so comfy. I find orange matches nothing so it goes with everythingGrin! The gold is lovely and I wear them with skirts and dresses

I am really pale year round. I have the silver ones and the red ones. The silver ones go with most of my spring/summer wardrobe so get the most wear, but the red look better on my white feet. I love both.

I bought the silver ones last year which are lovely.

workJack · 24/03/2015 21:14

I've got a brown pair and love them so much. Think I might have to get some more......

stripytees · 24/03/2015 21:22

its Saltwater is an American brand so you should find them easily over there.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 24/03/2015 22:12

I haven't heard of them before but now I want the brightly coloured ones! (tropical I think)

Judydreamsofhorses · 24/03/2015 22:20

I was tempted last summer but put off by not being able to try on - however Google suggests that Office is now stocking them, with click and collect as a delivery option if they're not in all stores.

dynevoran · 24/03/2015 23:17

Now I'm rushing to get tan. Then once I have them and checked size am going to probably get the Metallic mash ups or red.

Last year I wanted some in August and they were sold out everywhere it was ridiculous.

Delighted to hear all the good feedback 're comfort. Tempted to get DS1 a pair of kids sunsand ones as he wears flip flops all summer and constantly falls over out of them. But it's a bit pricey for kids. Because they mould to feet does anyone have any advice about passing them down to DS2? If they can be passed down then I can maybe slightly justify it!

I love these but worry they are too flat . Are they comfy to walk around in all day - worry they will be like converse and feel flat when trotting long distances .

TheVolatileMolatov · 24/03/2015 23:56

They can definitely be passed down to younger siblings.

My two year old is happily wearing her four year old brother's. And as we already them in navy or red it meant I could also get her the bright yellow patent leather ones. Just adorable and very hard wearing.

TheVolatileMolatov · 24/03/2015 23:58

They aren't meant to be all day sandals for little children - there isn't any support. But fantastic at the beach and for outings.

stripytees · 25/03/2015 07:54

I wouldn't wear mine for long walks but they are fine to wear all day for work. They are flat but so are a lot of summer sandals out there.

I have the gold (LOVE them, they go with absolutely everything) - I have wide feet and am usually between a 42-43 but the Saltwater 42s fit me fine (OK would be slightly better if my feet were narrower but I can live with it).

If I treat myself to another pair this year it will be in black. Or red. Or maybe yellow...

LucilleBluth · 25/03/2015 11:41

Regarding the kids ones, my DD lived in them last year. I wouldn't put a pre or early walker in them though. When my DSs were little they lived in crocs in the summer, I see them like that really......cute as hell but you can play out, get them wet kind of thing and they won't fall apart.

dynevoran · 25/03/2015 11:46

Okay. DS1 is 4 but will take note and make sure he wears his trainers for any major walks.

Just added his and mine to basket and did a few extra hours freelance last night from 11-2am so I can afford an extra pair. Gonna check size first though. Gutted I missed the mother's day discount!

Fellow salties. I have red and love them. They do come up a bit small on me but I have big feet, quite bulky. They have 'given' beautifully though. I managed to snap a strap on the second time of wearing, pulled too hard. I contacted sun san and they were brilliant! Just asked me to send a pic and then sent me out another pair immediately and I am overseas. So I gave the broken pair to my sis who got her little cobbler man in uk to sew it and voila! 2 pairs of red salties. Bit harrupmh they are a fiver more expensive than last summer.

I want gold now after reading this thread. Smile

If anyone's interested in buying from Office Grazia has 25% off this week.

JoanCallamezzo · 25/03/2015 18:33

I LOVE my Saltwaters. Have red, my originals which I've had for 3 years and are still my favourites, navy, silver and white. I want gold and tan too!

Can't wait for sandals weather!

BestIsWest · 25/03/2015 18:48

How rigid is the dole? Is there any padding or 'bounce'? I really like the gold and silver ones but can't wear 'hard' shoes.

BestIsWest · 25/03/2015 18:49

Grrr sole, SOLE.

MsRinky · 25/03/2015 20:08

Sorry, no padding, no bounce.

MsRinky · 25/03/2015 20:20

25% off? I might need gold ones. Do I actually have to buy the magazine to get the code?
