Size 42 shoes

I'm a really annoying in-between size in shoes - size 8 but a big 8, size 42 european. Loads of shops/websites etc seem to do 8/41. But I'm too small for the special 'large sizes' shoe websites.

I've had some luck in Clarks, Next and M&S but does anyone have any other ideas?

Another vote for Boden. And 41 is definitely a 7 and a half and 42 a large 8. I'm actually a 41, though take 42 in a few makes. Boden always used to be one of these but they've now introduced a 41 and a half.
Fitflop also do 42.

My pet hate is when Clarks ( whose shoes I don't personally like anyway ) try to insist a 41 is a 7. It isn't.

At R and B, LKB, Hobbs, and Geox - all of which are my favourites anyway - there's no messing about as they use sensible sizes and I'm just a 41.

41 is not an 8. It is not.

think Joules are 42 proper 8. I'm a 43 now, sob. Any recommendations?

Griftymoo · 23/03/2015 17:15

I'm a 43 (sob). I went up from a 42 after my DS was born. I order most of my shoes from Office (online only, they don't sell a 43 in store. I normally over-order and return the ones I don't want back to the store or via free collection.

I love you all. I am also a 42 ,although quite narrow, and hate the impossible to guess variation in sizes.

The problem is that there is no
direct correlation between UK and Continental sizes. DD is a 27. Infant UK 8 and 8.5 are wrong, but 27 is perfect.

It's surprising how many online shops just say 8 without specifying 41 or 42!! Very annoying.

Tesco, Dorothy Perkins and Primark all have a good range of 42's (I buy cheap shoes, sorry)

BallsToThat · 23/03/2015 21:52

Next do a large range of shoes in 42. Quite decent for winter voots and for sandals in summer.

Another 42 here, drives me mad when lovely shoes in an 8 turn out to be a 41.
