Nude pumps - yes or no?

I bought some nude pumps today from Hobbs. I think they look nice but want to reassure myself I haven't made a mistake. I set out to buy the same style in black but then realised I have some black peep toe pumps and that maybe I don't need black after all.

I will mainly wear them for work. They seem to go well with navy and bright colours... I am not going to look too mumsy, am I?

My only issue is that I generally favour black matt tights, so will obviously need to seek alternatives!

I've got them in navy suede. They're simple, inoffensive and quite elegant IME.

Unlike Yanks.

It was a JOKE

personally I think they're fine for an office environment. Fashion moves a lot slower there! they're versatile and comfortable liking and frankly part of the point of nude heels is that they're not really supposed to be noticed (hence the leg lengthening illusion).

patent nude is DOUBLE vile

When I first saw this thread, I thought the discussion was about nude ballet pumps - which are a lifesaver in spring and summer.

Fashion moves a lot slower there! It moves slower here in the US, too, where nude pumps are still considered the height of fashion. Grin

I like them because I have long skinny feet; if I wear dark shoes with lighter colored clothing, all you see coming at you are my feet.

strange the USA is so unfashionable, isnt it?

Look at eBay, hundreds of pairs of nude patent court shoes. I tried to shift a pair of Next ones, brand new, no takers. Out of fashion now.

I love nude pumps, and would say that they probably will never go out of 'fashion'. Not that I generally keep with fashion, I pick what suits me and make it work in my own way.
I had a pair of nude/off white colour pumps from Topshop with small studs on for about 4 years! Eventually threw them away this year as they were just battered! Blush
I will be buying some more this year though, hopefully!
I think they go well with most things/colours.

Have just come back to this thread! Looks like I will be taking them back and swapping for black or navy... I do need some plain work shoes that will go with most things. I actually really like the nude but I think you are all right - it's looking a bit dated...
