Can anyone suggest shoes to go with this dress?

I have to man the stand at DH's upcoming book signing at a conference/expo thingy . I have this dress i ordered a while back but have never worn (i know it's a frumpy wrap dress but they really suit my figure so ). I really need to some shoes to wear which wont kill me to stand about all day in. I don't wear black, so no black suggestions please (unless they are particularly fabulous).

Thanks all :)

That dress is GORGEOUS. I love DVF Envy

Will have a look... Can you do a little heel or would you prefer flats?

tethersend · 19/03/2015 15:16

Something like this would be great for a 70s vibe whilst keeping comfortable, but you have to be pretty dedicated to the 70s look to make them work.

Something like this would also work well.

i do wear heels, something blocky or thick tho. and mid height. I have big feet (7.5-8) and a stupid bigger second toe (royal big toe or summat) so really pointy look ridiculous and hurt as does a very flat fronted round shape. I used to find bertie heels comfortable - back in the day i had places to go and could wear high shoes.

Ideally i'd like a bright pink to match.

Not sure if these would match

I also DVF and have far too many of her dresses a few of the bentley ones in different colours too Blush

Or these in grey. Or black, even though you said no black Grin

tethersend · 19/03/2015 15:20

X post; ok, no pointy.

Those Clarks ones will clash, I say avoid!

Will look for pink.

tethersend · 19/03/2015 15:27

These CLOSE BRACKETS

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 15:27

Yes i agree. I also have quite chunky calves so avoid straps round the ankles. I do wear mary janes across the instep sometimes, but nothing higher.

I haven't bought new shoes in about 4yrs Blush i have no idea what's in fashion.

These could work

tethersend · 19/03/2015 15:41

Or these...

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 16:04

Oh i like the LaRedoute ones. The others have a bit of a thin heel for me.

I may order them and see if the colour matches.

The other option is to wear my pink/purple dress with different colour shoes. or a leopard print - or is that too dated now?

Love the dress. Not personally a fan of matchy pink shoes. Think it would look classier with, eg, grey suede or pewter snakeskin . I'd have a browse at LK Bennett Hobbs R snd B personally, to find something worthy of the upmarket dress.

polyhymnia · 19/03/2015 16:43

PS and, though I do like leopard skin shoes - which have become a classic I think - wouldn't go bright pink plus leopard on this occasion.

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 17:14

Ha yes, channeling my inner bet lynch there a bit. I usually would wear an animal print with the claret or navy dresses i own.

you are right too about the pink i think - altho i do love bright shoes. a soft dove grey might look nice. Or taupe - but that might put me in the nude/kate middy/daily mail makeover territory.

Do you think these would go

tethersend · 20/03/2015 18:16

They're ok.

What about these?

MrsKoala · 20/03/2015 19:27

oh no. sorry. nice but certainly too busy with that frock.

i also want them to be wearable with other stuff. i think a plain grey or pale pink would go best. some white wedge sandals might look nice in the summer.
