If I blow dry my hair (use a BBH) it looks great for the day and then so greasy the next. Have tried with out without heat protecting cream. Same shampoo and conditioner wtc. Have clean hands and all that. It lasts an extra day of not being greasy if I just leave it to dry. Why why why is this!?

just a fact of life!

air dry hair, the put straightener on it quickly gives best of both worlds imo

much as I love my bbh!

I think it's the non static ionising thingy the BBH does. Makes it lovely and smooth but at a cost

I have a normal hairdryer with an ion thingy on/off switch and if I use the ion thingy it makes my hair greasy the next day. If I use it several days in a row it goes unbelievably lank.

I find this helps.

Does BBH = babyliss big hair?

Does it really use ion technology to combat frizz? I find mine is really frizzy from using it, because it blows up the cuticle

I put more product on my hair when I dry it naturally so find it greasier quicker than if it's blow dried

burnishedsilver · 17/03/2015 23:56

Yes bbh is babyliss big hair. It leaves my hair really smooth.

Cawanaka · 19/03/2015 06:17

Thanks burnished! Does that really help with greasiness?

Makes sense these theories. Woe is me. Am trying to be all look at me I'm so put together and not a disaster etc. but having only one day of nice hair is just so impractical! Any other suggestions for combatting greasy hair? Other than dry shampoo and washing it more often of course!

You are only putting conditioner on the ends, right?

And a plain shampoo like Aussie Mega is best, just cleans hair without "conditioning" or "nourishing" ingredients like silicone ( cyclometicone or dimethicone on ingredients list)

Spirinata · 19/03/2015 12:37

I actually fiAussie Mega makes my hair really greasy!

I use AussieColour Mate.

catlady1 · 21/03/2015 20:28

I find the opposite! But I just use a normal hairdryer and just blow it upside down without a brush or anything, so less faffing about with the hair. Was really greasy as a teenager and was told that too much brushing, straightening, playing with hair, even rubbing shampoo in too vigorously would cause the scalp to produce more oil, I don't know how true that is but it's seemed to help me.
