How is this skirt £98? Where can I find similar for much less ££? Am I being miserable?!

this Jigsaw skirt? I do like the style of it and it's a great summer style. However I think it's way overpriced at almost £100!

Is it me being tight?

Does anyone know where I could find a similar skirt for less?

Wow! Really is lovely but the price... Shock

That style has been quite popular here this summer, maybe if you can hang on a bit, then the other shops may be getting similar styles in.

One hundred bloody pounds for viscose?!?! They're taking the proverbial. I'd have thought that any of the high street disposable fashion places would have similar styles, skater skirts and floral prints are hardly exclusive this year are they? Try Topshop, New Look, Dorothy Perkins et al.

babyiwantabump · 17/03/2015 08:37

They had some the same in primark the other day. £8 .

OneLittleLady · 17/03/2015 08:38

it's definitely not you being tight. it's a nice skirt but almost £100 pounds for viscose is ridiculous. I've had better fabrics for under a tenner in Primark!

alittleegglayonaleaf · 17/03/2015 08:45

You could whip that up in no time with silk printed fabric from Liberty's London for a quarter of the price and 4 times the fabric quality

burnishedsilver · 17/03/2015 08:55

No you're not being tight.

Moreisnnogedag · 17/03/2015 09:11

It's viscose?! I thought must be silk for that amount. They are definitely taking the mickeys.

Kittykatmacbill · 17/03/2015 09:33

Wow I had something very similar from topshop in 1996 (ish) it cost a lot less!

GlitteringJasper · 17/03/2015 09:42

little where would I start with trying to make a skirt like that?

I wouldn't haven a clue!

It looks like something that you could have bought for a tenner from Razzle Dazzle in the 90s.

toddlerwrangling · 17/03/2015 10:12

Definitely not you being tight! I used to buy loads from Jigsaw but about 3/4 years ago they put all their prices up to ridiculous levels - I stopped buying from there on principle as it's such bad value for money!

mirpuppet · 17/03/2015 10:14

The fabric from liberty would cost almost 50 pounds if you purchased it there -- but it would last you for ages.

turkeyboots · 17/03/2015 10:17

I like it. But agree you could have got something similar in C&A for a tenth of the cost back in the day.

Smooshface · 17/03/2015 11:04

New look have lots of floral skater skirts online...

alittleegglayonaleaf · 17/03/2015 14:51

AuldAlliance · 17/03/2015 15:57

hellsbellsmelons · 17/03/2015 15:58

Quite nice??
If you are a size 8 This is a bargain

BinarySolo · 17/03/2015 16:01

I have a very similar skirt from fat face. Outrageous price.

florascotia · 17/03/2015 21:01

With a pattern such as this (there are others), I expect a dressmaker could make the skirt for you in an afternoon! www.jaycotts.co.uk/products/nl6899#.VQiUWC6nxdg

Do you have any older (50-plus or more) friends/relatives/neighbours who could teach you how to sew?

There are also 'how to' websites, such as this, but please practice on a piece of old sheet or similar before launching into your chosen fabric www.tillyandthebuttons.com/p/miette.html

There used to be evening classes, but govt cuts have rather hammered these in some places. Worth asking your local authority, however...
