What in your experience are the good quality items that last and look lovely. Their play sets and yea dresses are very sweet but do those actually look all odd and bunches up on a baby?

What's the sizing like? Big or small? DD is 6 months and am getting Summer things. She's slifht but long have found she's slightly big in most clothes, as in going into 6-9 stuff when 5mo etc.

Thanks for advice!

Ps are dresses incredibly annoying for crawling babies? They have some such lovely ones but don't want to be the kind of mum who goes for fashion over function! Although she will probably be walking quite soon so maybe ok.

I find dresses particularly terrible for crawling, but also not great for early walking as well because they like to climb and it's not the most practical for that either. I usually go to Boden for quality basics, to be honest.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 13/03/2015 19:23

Dd always wore dresses. It's only recently she's worn trousers and she's 9 next week.

We had no problems when crawling.

I'd say Boden is true to size and the dresses are fab quality. The t-shirts are also lovely quality and the designs are cute.

The dungarees are cute and comfortable, my little girl basically lived in two rotating pairs last summer! Highly recommend bodysuits and socks too. We only properly graduated on to dresses at 13-14 months when she confidently walking. LG is big (98th percentile) and 6-12m fit her fine all last summer (Oct baby)

sales v good value if you can wait, the padded jackets are nice for winter, did have some Boden baby clothes when DD was that small, but mainly second hand ones.

Things we loved
-beautiful poplin dungarees

  • lined baggy cords that lasted her ages and were just so warm and comfy
  • padded jacket that she has managed to wear for 3 years from 9 months till age 3.
  • cord pinafore dresses, they fit for a nice long time
  • the tights are great
  • little cardies

I have to say am absolutely loving everything! Always been a bit snobby about it because of the price but have a discount code and it's actually not unreasonable. Rather pleased I've got to spend this there!

Oh no I just removed some dungarees from my basket. Now I'm going to have to put them back in!

I've got one of their little cardis in my basket.

Some sweet flowery leggings.

Some sweet flowery bloomers as well.

Tempted by the shorts and top sets but feel like those are less versatile as in UK it's only properly hot for a few days a year!

A spring jacket, which she needs anyway.

Three dresses - which I know I need to get rid of at least one and probably two. They are just SO sweet.

Oh yes, padded fleece lined jacket is brilliant, lg has worn constantly this winter. Tights and pinafore dresses are fab quality too :)

snowgal · 13/03/2015 19:38

And everything keeps value really well for future eBay sells :)

Halogenaque · 13/03/2015 19:39

I've noticed re eBay. Stuff sells pretty near to RRP!

DD was absolutely fine in dresses when crawling and still is now she's walking. Leggings are always a good bet.

weebarra · 13/03/2015 19:42

Tights, bodies, rompers, dungarees!

SaltySeaBird · 13/03/2015 19:47

I started off by being given a few bits from Boden for DD from my DM and she has converted me. It always looks lovely and lasts so well.

She is 2.5 now and still wearing things from 12 months ago. I find the sizing to be generous. I've also brought things off eBay although prices tend to be not that much cheaper (I only buy in sales and they seem to give me 20% off all the time).

Knitted dresses have been great. DD still wears her 12-18 month ones as jumpers.

Summer dungarees got a lot of wear as do her long sleeve tops. She is also in Boden PJs which are great but slim fitting. I got her age 4 so they should last a while.

She also has a few Boden coats and the cardigans are good.

If I'm honest at least 90% of her wardrobe is Boden but I've never paid full price for anything and it all lasts for ages!

Thanks for advice everyone. Bought just the one dress, leggings, two cardigans, jacket and a few things for DS. May have gone ever so slightly over the amount of vouchers I had...
