I need dresses for work in the Middle East . Creative industry so can be casual /quirky but not fitted and must be below knee length and cover at least elbows . Size 14 tall so not maxi dress as look like a Christmas tree.
Delivery as well .
Thanks

The sort of granny dresses in the back of The Telegraph? Think it's called Patra?

A cool person could make it "granny chic" Wink

or look for "midi dresses", I am 6ft and midi dresses are often knee-length for me!

I bought a black jersey long sleeved dress from the zara sale not long ago but it has an asymmetrical bottom and looking at the pic one of my knees is out. It's lovey and flattering and was only £15.

Modcloth?

AgentCooper · 10/03/2015 19:16

Cos would probably be good if you're not looking for fitted. I got some lovely knee length, quarter sleeved dresses from Phase Eight recently but they are quite fitted. Though it depends on your figure - I'm a tall 14, but I have big boobs and bum.

East?

trixymalixy · 10/03/2015 19:22

Search for midi dresses on ASOS.

trixymalixy · 10/03/2015 19:24

too fitted?

Allstoppedup · 10/03/2015 19:25

Apricot- at New Look do a lot of modest long sleeved dresses that have quirky/boho patterns. I've got quite a few now and really rate them.

2nd midi dresses on ASOS. Otherwise its a needle in a haystack.

Annarose2014 · 10/03/2015 19:37

Actually you can search "midi dress long sleeve" on ASOS. Their search function is really good. You just have to wade through a bit of bodycon stretchy tube type things.

GingerLDN · 10/03/2015 19:41

Search ShopStyle. You can use filters to find what you are looking for eg neckline, length, sleeve length, colour, price etc

Just bought this from H&M ....it's nice on, wore it to work today Smile

I also thought this was nice.

bluelamp · 10/03/2015 19:52

Boden has dresses like that in their spring range, there's usually a navy option if you can't face the prints.

SwedishEdith · 10/03/2015 19:56

This could work if you're not especially tall

Have you considered a tunic and wide legged trousers?

polyester

chiffon

Any fabric preferences???

longgoneGCC · 12/03/2015 09:38

thanks for the ASOS and midi recommendations . I didn't even know of midi dresses. I'm 5'10 so even if it says knee length alot of brands end up near my pants .

Shirt dresses as they would be cool and covering? Seen some in M&S patterned, H&M khaki and lyocell denim, lovely DvF patterns in the matches sale.

Tapwater · 12/03/2015 11:59

If you're going to be living there, consider getting some favourite garments copied by a good, cheap tailor? I used to live in Dubai, and when I was trying to think about what I wore when I wasn't wearing wide-legged heavy cotton or linen trousers, I realised I had had cheap copies made of things I already had. I also had some lovely wide-sleeved blouses made from sari fabric.
